Two Little Peacocks

Back in June while I was out in California with all the kids, John bought two baby peacocks.   He was in love.  He did lots of research and found someone who raised them along with other birds who was very helpful.  Despite all the discussions between the two of them, they did not discuss the possibility of what happened to these two babies.
John wanted to surprise us all.

But he didn't get the chance.
The morning of the day we were going to be home John went out to
check on his two babies.

To his horror, he found this rat snake instead.
Quite upset, John called to tell me.
I guess this is quite common out here.  It was still very sad.
Rather than kill the snake (like I would have done), John drove it out to a place where it could be left alone and let it go.

  1. Oh man, that is brutal. So sorry for the loss of those sweet birds! Nature and the circle of life can be so harsh.

  2. Aaaaaaaawwwwwwww.........😢😢

  3. Oh MY! Not sure I could handle Rattlesnakes in the yard! EEEEKKK!
