Cleaning House

Getting the windows washed.

Going through Christmas decorations and throwing away the old.

Sorting out and getting rid of stained, worn-out clothing.

Removing blog links from this blog that are rarely updated.

Deleting old emails.

I'd say the title of this post could not be more appropriate.
Happy New Year!
Out with the old.  In with the new.
At least that is my hope.
While 2014 brought us our new daughter, and there is much rejoicing,
I have to say that 2014 was one of the hardest years of my life.
Literally.  Maybe sometime I'll share.  Maybe not.
Anyway, I am hoping, praying, and greatly encouraged that 2015 is going to be better.

So far so good.

How was your 2014?  Is 2015 going to be different?

P.S.  Please share your favorite blog link in the comments.

  1. Happy New Year Christine! I need to get crackin' on the cleaning house part too!

My favorite blog (yours not included) is http://paradoxuganda.blogspot.com/
Missionaries in Uganda for 16 years and now Kenya...two doctors, four children.. lots of perspective, deep thoughts, tears. Always causes me to pray deeply for our world.

I am ever grateful for you Christine. Hugs from a stranger.

  6. Hi Christine,

We have been sorting through boxes way under the stairs in the basement. Oh my!!!! The things one finds when one hasn't looked for many years. So it is all done now........we have a pile for charity and a pile for the rubbish and some for our kids.....photos etc. I think we will have to take several weeks to put all the rubbish out.

  7. This is one of my goals too. To clean out stuff....get rid of it. I also want to get rid of debt. We were able to make great strides towards this in 2014, and I'm hoping to continue that in 2015.

Also...the lord is helping me eliminate some emotional clutter from my mind and soul. I'm a work in progress.

I am going to link you to a bit of humor regarding getting rid of clutter. Enjoy.

  8. Happy New Year! Cannot really come up with an all time favorite blog (I like yours).

We got rid of sodas in our house by replacing our drinking with a Sodasteam and buying only their naturally sweetened line (Best prices for their flavors in their outlet store online). Now we are all drinking more water because of it and not drinking anything with high fructose corn syrup and all that other stuff. I know my kidneys are happier!

Let's see, I have been cleaning out my emails, and reorganizing the house (though not as much as I should be). And since the girls received an xbox 360 for their birthday (thanks to my parents), I am going to use it to get toned up this year. My four-year-old can help me with that while my nine-year-old is in school. Here is hoping this year is great to your family and mine.
