Bless His Heart

   A few of the kids were up at 6am and a kettle of water was put on to boil.  Hot chocolate with whipped cream and homemade rolls with butter and jam for breakfast.  Yum. 
However, Andrew wanted a couple of packets of oatmeal and put a glass bowl of water into the microwave to heat up.  When he saw the water was beginning to boil he pulled it out wearing oven mitts.  Unfortunately, the bowl slipped out of his hands and the hot water spilled on the front of his shirt.  He immediately took it off to find a burn underneath.
He was in a lot of pain.  We immediately began pouring cool water over it and had our neighbors (both medical professionals) look at it.  They reassured me that Andrew should be okay with home treatment.

 Andrew is doing pretty well physically, but emotionally not so much.  After last week's eye issue, and now this, he is feeling vulnerable.  He is sleeping in our room because he wants to be close by.  Bless his heart.  If you could please lift him in prayer, we would appreciate it.
Baboonya (my mom) is here for the week.  Today she made nut rolls with William.
A few days ago, we had vegetarian mac and cheese.  It was very good!
I ended up taking Oliver to Urgent Care on Saturday.  Yes, the saline rinse was drying his nose up, but it was only a temporary fix.  Each time he had to sneeze, I could see that his mucous was beginning to look green.  The doctor said he had a sinus infection and his throat was looking red from the drainage, so he put him on antibiotics.  That was four days ago, and he is doing so much better.
After Paul's schoolwork was done, he watched cartoons with Oliver.

It's a good thing I didn't write this post yesterday.  It just wasn't the best day.
A few of the kids were slow to get back into the groove after having the week off.
One of the boys was having a really rough day and consumed more time than I should have allowed.
One of the boys got in trouble at school.
Oliver got into the wet dog food and made a mess.
Nolan or Alex (I can't remember which) dropped a glass bowl on the tile.
I could go on, but I think you get the picture.
Besides, that day is long gone, and outside of Andrew getting hurt this morning, the day went much better.

    All families have those rough spots of time. Sometimes it seems as though carefree days will never be here again, but spring is here and God promises never to leave us or forsake those who love Him.
