I Guess It's Time

My changing picture header no longer works because Picnik no longer exists.  So all you see is black.  I think it's time for a blog makeover.  Feeling lost.  Sure I have changed the header picture and the background color, but that's about it.  Any suggestions?  I can sure use the help.  Thanks!

  1. Not related to this post but wanted to let you know we got our puzzle pieces. Will decorate and get them back asap. Thanks.

  2. My only suggestion would be to use either a single photo or a collage of photos in your header instead of a video. #1, you can host it anywhere yourself and not have to worry about it disappearing if the website closes (like Picnik), and #2, it loads faster. I have DSL and a 4G connection, but your header video always loads super slow no matter what device I'm using, and there is usually a delay before it'll even let me scroll down passed it as well.

    Just my $.02. :)

  3. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone says! I need a blog makeover bad and am a little lost. I hope to get it done before our daughter's surgery in July. Waiting anxiously....smile....

  4. If you saved the image that you created in Picnik you can 'host' it over on photobucket.com.

  5. Check out some of the sites that offer free blog backgrounds. Sometimes they have cute stuff, and then pick a header photo from the "layout" option. :)

  6. PicMonkey is free and very easy to use. Most people I know that used Picnik are using it. I am still learning all the things it offers but so far enjoy it. Would love to see a header of your whole family together.

  8. A collage with different pics of your family would be a great idea, but I don't know where you'd make it. Sorry!

  9. I agree with Bobby and Liz. The header took up far too much of my (big!) screen, and never loaded in any kind of reasonable time.

Personally, I find video headers to be really annoying. I'd rather see still pictures (or just one still photo) any day.

Unless I'm watching a video, things moving on the screen are just an irritating distraction. I'd rather just be reading the blog.

  12. To second or third some previous comments, the old heading was lovely, but took forever to load (and we have a FAST Internet service) - and if I clicked on one of the "you might also like" links, I'd have to wait for the whole process all over again.

  13. I prefer a still picture as well, and am happy the video is gone ( i have very fast computer and equally fast connection, but there is always a pause) so I hope you're not too sad about the loss of the slideshow! :)

A custom blog design would be a delight to see here! I LOVE reading here and cleaned up streamlined look would be AWESOME. I think a nice collage header, custom buttons and siggy and stuff.

I design but am so swamped with business that I can offer my service, but perhaps someone else can *i see one offer above, but I've yet to check out her stuff*

    good luck!!
