Sveta is such a sweetheart. Often she will be my shadow... not in an overbearing way... actually something I have grown to enjoy very much. As I put on my pajamas last night and combed out my hair, I thought I would return the favor and comb her hair... and french braid it. After I went down to check my email, Sveta disappeared into the kitchen. Just as I was walking out of the office to head up to bed, she was walking toward me with a cup of freshly made coffee.
Like I said, What a sweetheart!
"Here Mom. I made you a cup of coffee. But I am so sorry because you were out of your other coffee and I had to make it with another kind. But smell. It looks good. Will you like it?"
Immediately I saw the coffee grounds floating in the mug and I tried to keep from laughing.
"Oh Sveta, thank you so much. Can you show me what coffee you used?"
When she showed me the can of Folgers I just smiled to myself.
P.S. I strained the coffee, reheated it, and drank it for breakfast. Not bad.

Hi She is a really sweetie. Pat
What a great story! That is so sweet.
You were SO wise to just thank and compliment. I have made many mistakes by correcting their mistakes FIRST...they don't hear the praise afterwards.
That is a way my kids show me love, too, by making me coffee. I guess coffee is my love language. :)
Sweet story. So glad you shared it. :-)
My children have never tried to make me coffee...maybe that's a good thing. But, what a dear story.
