I choose love. Because love is a choice. And to truly love is to expect nothing back in return. And when someone does not have the ability to love you back... they are in need of it most.

Christine, I can't even begin to tell you how perfectly timed this post was! I really needed to read exactly that tonight. It is perfect. Thank you!
I really needed this today. We are adopting a sibling set of 3 and are having a very hard time adjusting and bonding right now. This is a great reminder.
I love that you wrote about choice. I am a teacher and the other day a grade 8 asked me "why are you always so HAPPY?!?" my response "I choose to be happy. I cn't always control what is happening or what will happen but I CAN always choose to be happy"
Hi! Sometimes children who have autism have a hard time understanding the concept of love. Even children who have RAD may have difficultly with understanding the concept of love- unselfish giving. Sometime children must be taught how to love. Some children in orphanages may never have been shown love so they can not give love. Pat

Hey Christine,
I think what I like best about your blog is that you write things that nearly everyone can relate to.
For example, I am not a parent, nor am I a Christian, but this post really resonated with me. You are wise. Thank you.
By the way may I borrow this quote and put it on my facebook status??

Thanks
Or put it on yours for many to copy and paste on theirs !!
