It Will Be An Interesting Week

This pretty sums up how we spent our weekend. Well actually, after it rained Friday night John spent Saturday digging a new drain pipe for our back lawn-- but this is what he did afterward.

Last night we had some friends from up north stop by as they were passing through our town. It was a pleasant surprise! It was so comforting to see familiar faces.

This is my new fave dessert-- it is not too sweet and oh so yummy! I use Pillsbury pie crust and layer it with cream cheese whipped with powdered sugar and lemon pie filling on top. Bake and you have instant perfection! Way better than cheesecake!

These pictures are from last weekend when I turned my bedroom into a craft room to make homemade valentine cards.

The kids had so much fun!

For a few weeks now Anastasia's left hand has had poor circulation. It is red, slightly swollen, and colder than her right hand. Every time I asked her about it she had just come in from outside. I didn't think much of it. However, I checked on it several times today and even her arm feels colder than her other one. It seems much more noticeable now and I am concerned. I am making an appointment in the morning to see the doctor. She said she had this in Ukraine but if that is the case it seems to be getting worse. Hopefully it is nothing.

This coming week should be interesting. My boys have the week off from school-- my homeschoolers don't. Let the fun begin!
**************************
Go read about this precious little boy. He is a cutie! Might you be his forever family?

Strange with Anastasia's hand. Both of Justin's hands have been bright red and cold after playing. Wondering if it might have been frost bite in Ukraine? I haven't taken him in yet either. I wanted to see if it went away.

Sounds like you had a very busy week! Looks like fun making all the cards! We make a dessert that is very yummy and very similar. Take a brick of cream cheese , mix it with a package of prepared dream whip and 1/2 cup of splenda. (3/4 cup sugar works too but tastes different to us) make sure you cream them together well and mix with mixer until smooth. Put in cooked pie crust and top with fresh fruit or thin layer of pie filling. (no baking required other than cooked pie crust) works fantastic as a dip on its own for fresh fruit as well! Mmm yum!

Anastasia's symptoms sound similar to Reynaud's disease:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raynaud's_phenomenon

It sounds scary, but it's actually quite manageable and not dangerous. I'm sure if she has it her doctor will tell you all about it, but I can tell you that my symptoms have practically disappeared when I started paying attention to my doctor and keeping my limbs warm at all times.

I'm hoping it's nothing, though!

I would definitely have her checked for Raynaud's.

My brother has the same thing the last commenter posted a link to and it's nothing serious. He doesn't take medicine or anything. He has poor circulation to his feet so he has to make sure to wear thick socks and slippers in the house at all times. I hope it is nothing with Anastasia though. Sending prayers her way :).

Hi! I hope your daughter's hands are o.k., My daughter's hands really bother her when the weather gets very cold.In the North this past winter the weather has been colder than usual. I have taken my daughter to a doctor and she has been given medication to increase the blood circulation in her hands. Praying for your daughter, Pat

I hope everything is alright with Anastasia's hand.

Lemon pie is my favorite so I think I'll have to try your recipe. Yum!
