Oh Christine and Family, I am sorry he did die. I know that you gave it your best of course and no, he wasn't alone.
It is hard to raise a newborn rodent of any type from such an early point in their life as that which you took on. Having had a pet rodent rescue in my home operating for the past ten years I have had entire litters brought to me without their mothers and have in 90 percent of those cases, lost the babies due to the extensive care they need. The one baby hamster pinkie i did have live i actually fostered to a mother mouse! :)
I wanted to say that you guys did the best with him that anyone could possibly have done. They are very hard to bottle feed at that age and what a beautiful display of mercy and compassion that was. God knows when even a sparrow dies. Don't give up on furry friends just yet.
Thank you for sharing your family with us. :)

p.s. you don't have to post this comment unless you wish to. I was going to send it personally as an email but couldn't find the email to send to. Take care.
I'm sorry to say, but Pinkie was never meant to survive. He was meant to be food. Treating food as pets resulted in my grandma's place being overrun by 12 roosters. If you ever get a rodent to raise at the apropriate age and maturoty level, your family will have a lot of fun with them. :)
Re your PS...oh yes you are! And youre gonna love her. =). Don't make me send the pics of the kids and my carnitas when she came for a visit in the reedley house. They loved her!!
Hi! I guess it was Pinkie's time to leave this earth, There is a time for life and a time for death. I guess God was calling for Pinkie. I am sorry for your lose, Pat

Done with animals... maybe. Done with compassion... I highly doubt it.

I am sorry for your loss :(
I hadn't realized Connie had died? Losing pets is tough, but are good instructions on one of life's tougher lessons.
