I'm Procrastinating Big Time

Okay, so I have narrowed my paint choices down to Pale Wheat for the whole house color and Macchiato on a few of the accent walls. Both Behr colors. Still, I want to choose one more accent color--- but I can't decide if it should be a lighter, eggplanty, with grayish undertones kind of purple, or an earthy-toned green or even a darker mustardy yellow.

I need to make my choice by the end of today and I am leaning towards nothing unless someone knows of a great color!

Help! Please!

I think an earth tone green would go with the colors you have already choosen. I think earth tones are warm, inviting, and calming.

Hmmm...I would go for some eggplanty accents for sure. It would add some cooler brighter tones to the warm tones, while still matching nicely!

Green sounds wonderful and goes with more other colours than purple or yellow does, which might make adding carpets and curtains easier. White, brown and green - great colours together too! Sounds really beautiful!

Go with the green. I never thought I'd advocate green on walls, but one day I decided it would look good with the pine trees outside my window and I've so happy with it. Plus my company did a green accent wall in every conference wall in the building and it really is nice!

What ever happened to old paint off white with fingerprints????
LOL
Just kidding. I am of no help. We need to paint around here, and instead, I just hang pictures.

However, the house we are trying to sell.... we are painting Chocolate Frost (a very light beige) with off white accents. It took me about 3 minutes to think about it. LOL BUT that is because I don't have to live there. :)

Our kitchen is watermelon green accented with loads of wood. I am tihkning about painting it a reddish color to match our dishes... but DH says, "why"? There is paint on the wall after all. :)

I went and looked at the colors on the Behr site. I personally think the green, particularly in a lighter shade, would be a good choice. Have you thought about using two colors - a "cool" color like the green in the bedrooms and a "warm" color like the yellow in the main living areas? I know that probably doesn't make the decision any easier. I was just thinking that with an active family you might want "calming" colors, which includes green, in the bedrooms and enjoy bright "warm" colors in family areas.

Personally, the grey undertones may be a little depressing. This is just my undeducated and not very good decorating sense opinion. Earthtones are warm and inviting and comforting. I'd go with that.

I went to the behr site, I like the ground cumin color the most, although that isn't actually eggplant yellow or purple, so my second choice is.. Deep Aubergine. No matter what you pick I am sure it will look awesome.

I think a pinkish tan would go well. And, you can probably have it blended to suit your taste(s). So, it ends up being a desert sandish color the boys won't object to. Although, the eggplantish color sounds nice. Or, hey! just don't repaint.

Go with the green and the pale wheat... sounds like my house! :-)

If I had your email I'd send you a photo so you could see what it looks like; most of the walls are pale wheatish, with 1 green accent wall and the kitchen is a deeper mustardy color. In the great room you see all 3 colors and they blend VERY well.

The eggplanty color gets my vote. Anyone can have an earthy green but it takes someone bold to do a color like eggplant.

I vote for green. No particular reason, other than it's my favorite color.

I hope that you'll share pictures of your new house once everything comes together!

Almost our whole house is green, so you know what gets my vote! Second place would go to the mustard color.

For some reason I can't view the Behr site! So...in our last house we used 3 co-ordinating colors from the same paint strip which worked really well, so I'd recommend using toning colors rather than contrasting. It also makes for an easy on the eye transition from room to room and all of the colors should co-ordinate with the carpet.
