I would say that today went rather well. The girls had a good first day at trying to be sisterly and our evening chat went even better. I brought up the past-- not to keep a record of wrong but to validate the girls' reasons for possibly feeling the way they do. I think this was a good thing.

Their bedtime was around 8pm but they were allowed to "hang out" together in their rooms. I was tempted to lift the early bedtime for them because of how nice they were all being but I know all too well that as soon as I go and do something like that-- they revert back to their old ways. No girls-- this new behavior needs to be an ongoing thing so I think I am going to set aside some time each night for the next few weeks for them to re-learn to like each other.

But... tomorrow night I'm hoping I can make an exception because I plan on buying the movie Babies to watch as a family. Scratch that-- I just remembered that Camp Rock 2 is on! Anyone else watching with their kids?

Lastly I wanted to share about an awesome ministry! I had the privilege of chatting with Taylor on Facebook tonight as she shared about something that is near and dear to her heart. She is involved in a ministry called the Adullam House that cares for children while their parents are in jail and they have no one else to stay with them. Go check it out and be inspired and if you feel led to help out I am sure they would appreciate it! Personally, I see a mission opportunity right in our backyard-- well at least in this country. :)

Adullum House is really in my back yard about a 30 min drive to be exact. It has been an awesome outreach to our community and changed so many childrens lives. Children dont have to go into foster care yet live in an environment with lots of love and a staff of volunteers! God truely worked through this ministry and anyone that feels lead to help this ministry will truely be a blessing!

Camp Rock 2 is on our netflix list but I didn't think it had released yet. I'd better move it to the top for Jasmine. I didn't like Camp Rock 1 but only because I don't like movies where someone pretends to be someone they aren't. Jasmine liked it but we talked about how your real friends should be people who like you for who you are and that you don't need to pretent with your real friends.

Sounds like your girls are working hard at being sisterly again. Sometimes it just takes a wake up call...at least in our house it does :-)

Yep Camp Rock 2 will be watched at our house too!

Off to check out Aduliam House.

Marisa that is so awesome to witness first hand. I wonder if there are more ministries like Adullam house here in the US?

Hey! It was a shock to see my name on here lol. I've also wondered if there are any other ministries like Adullam House around, but as far as I know there aren't. :(

i love how you've been proactive about working with your daughters on how they treat each other. it's such a good thing for us all to learn.

thanks for reminding me of that.
