Had to pay a plumber to remove the toilet and fetch the toilet paper holder lodged smack dab in the middle. It killed me to pay him $150 for 45 minutes worth of work. Double ugh,-- but it is fixed.
The meatball chili I made turned out o-kay-- not good enough to repeat though. William wouldn't touch it. Naturally, there are are leftovers. Good thing John will be home for lunch.
William had a rough morning because his younger brothers keep cutting in the school bus line. Actually, it was William who was cutting in line, but you can't make him see that. After going round and round, I gave him only one more talk.
"William, I know you know better. You are almost 11 years old and we have worked on releasing our frustrations and moving on for quite some time. I think you can do this. Your brothers are way younger than you and you could choose to not even care about your spot in line. I would like you stay back here with me... everyday if need be, until you can not care what your spot in line is, or where you sit, or how wrong Jonny is for getting to the bus stop first. Even if he wronged you, and Paul wronged you, you have got to remember that it shouldn't matter who gets on the bus second or third. A mature boy... an an awesome big brother like I believe you can be, would let his siblings get on first and even offer to sit with them on the bus." I massaged his eyebrows. "And please, try to relax those angry eyebrows and let go of the anger. Can you do that?"
Obviously still perturbed he responded to me sarcastically, "I can stop being angry but I won't change my eyebrows!"
Of course, Anna's little chuckle at his remark sent him into an uproar.
I hope his teacher has an extra dose of patience up her sleeve today. She is going to need it.

Thank you for the morning smile!
My daughter Cailin gets "angry eyebrows" too. When she was little, we could tell how angry she was by how red they got.
Starting into puberty, eh??? It'll get better. . . hang in there. ;-) You are a good Mama.
I think I would have had a hard time not chuckling at William's response just like Anna;-) Some things are just so hard for us to see (and our kids) at times. I hope tomorrow is a better day in the line waiting for the bus.
I have an 8 year old like that. We have been working extra hard on this- A LOT!!! Reading scriptures on anger...praying together, and some tough "basic plan" days to try to help remind him....it only makes it worse.
Definitely need extra patience, but Thank God HE has patience with me :)
I loved this post.life is a journey even for our little ones or big ones sometimes. life turns right sometimes- life turns left but with God's guidance it will alway turn out right.Blessings, Pat
This gave me a smile too. :)
My friend's son shoved a whole roll of toilet paper down their toilet and it EXPANDED. Her husband had to take it apart and use the power washer they use on the farm equipment to blast it out!
ah, the angry eyebrows...Samuel(6) has those..he has issues with his siblings with just about everything...every single morning...so I decided to tell him he had to stay with me..from as soon as I woke him up in the morning he must 'stick to me' till I take him to school. He sits with me when he has breakfast, he stays with me while I get ready, he is only allowed in the bathrooom to brush his teeth with his oldest sister and NO ONE ELSE..anyway you get the idea..he isnt allowed out of my site and so far it has worked. We are having less tantrums in the mornings and we are less stressed when we arrive at school..
oh and it wouldnt surprise me if William had a great day at school..its the days when I think Sam's techer is in for it when I get a message saying he had a great day..lol
I have a 9 yr old like that! Ex. we go out to eat and there are 2 straws , one blue striped and one pink striped and my 9 yr old insists in a little kid way that she wants the pink striped one... and maybe her 3 yr old sister has already picked it up...and its like HELLO??? What does it matter...?? At 9.5 yrs , you should be able to accept and understand it doesn´t matter what color is striping the straw!!!!
ugh!
You sound like you dealt with it great though!
HUgs!
We are new to CAVA. Just started this school year and I love it so very much. I have used other programs, but I really like the back to basics education my kids are getting. I am using the program for 3 of my 4 children. I have a high schooler, 4th grader and 8th grader in the program. I also love the teacher support it is amazing. If you would like to find out how it is working for us just email me would love to share my good and bad experiences.
LOL..William has a sense of humour.

Hi! We purchased toilets that had super powerful flushes several months ago. They were very expense but well worth it.I hope this helps. Pat
