An All Around Good Day

Do your kids ever think up something that they like so much that they do it over and over and over? Well, my kids do. And right now, they love to do this.

They set up all of our "extra" chairs in the middle of the living room and gather every pillow and blanket within reason to make up their nice and cozy little beds. After a while, I ask them to put everything away only to find that they have set things back up an hour later.

Alex is looking much better these days. The only sign that Impetigo plagued this child just a few short days ago is the scar in the corner of his mouth. For the two weeks that he had a honey- colored scab, I would not kiss his lips for fear of spreading it... instead I kissed the other corner of his mouth and cheek. Every night he would tell me that tomorrow I would be able to kiss him the right way and yesterday he was finally right! Hooray for TeaTree oil!

Bless my Mom's heart. When she read that I had bought boxes she was like, "Oh no!" and called up a friend who she thought she could get boxes from. Today she brought over a couple dozen!
Her and I spent some time taping them together and then she helped me pack up four or five of them. What a huge help she was, and what a wonderful time I had with her. Thanks Mom!
Too bad she wasn't much of a help in choosing a color or two for the new house. As of now I can't decide between Fossil Butte, Blanket Brown, Chocolate Sparkle, Butter Cookie, Brown Bread, Warm Nutmeg, or Cup of Cocoa. Too bad choosing a color wasn't as easy as choosing what sounds yummy to eat. I would love a butter cookie with a cup of cocoa right now.

Every once in a while, I will get a close-up with me and one of the kids.

Here is me and Julia.

And then here is one with Paul.

The girls are getting along better. Tonight John and I spent alot of time with them in their room right before bed. It was nice joking around with them---- and seeing just how different each of them are. Rachel tends to watch from a distance. She pretends to push you away but she eats up love and affection. Sveta is silly yet grumpy if she doesn't like something-- and she is not afraid to show it. However, it doesn't take much to get her to turn her frown upside down and her Daddy does a great job of that! You will almost always find a book in Annalyn's hand no matter what. One minute she is talking to us and the next she is finishing up a chapter. Julia is into puzzles right now-- the Rumikub to be exact. In the past week she has mastered it. Anna is our little munchkin. She is an adorable firecracker that wants to grow up too darn fast for her own good. Anastasia brings a refreshing spirit to the family. She is genuinely loving and gives the bestest hugs ever. She adores family life-- and expresses her happiness all the time.

Oh good! Your day sounded great. :)

I saw that closeup picture of Paul, and for a second I thought it was Sarah! Wow. They could be brother and sister with that resemblance. :)

Go to the lunchroom at the schools and I am sure they will be happy to set aside all their boxes!

I like the 'fancy' chairs, and yes, my kids get creative with the house at times too. Lately it has been rows of pillows and blankets all over... I don't mind too much, but the have to pick them up at night. Slippery blankets left out on marble floors... not a good idea :D Good to hear you had a good day!

Christine, I've looked at your color choices and I'd like to offer you 3 more colors to consider: Pumpkin Butter (ICC-62D), Cardamon (PMD-51), and River Mud (PMD-102).

I was really pleasantly surprised when I chose Pumpkin Butter as the main color for most of my house. A year later and I still love the color - it goes with a lot of things. I have an accent wall done in Cardamon that goes well with the Pumpkin Butter.

The River Mud is a cool color - it looks exactly as its name suggests - it has some brown, green, and grey tones to it. In a room that gets lots of natural light it is a great choice (I think, lol!)

From what I can tell via the online Behr color charts, I think Pumpkin Butter is in a similar color range as Fossil Butte, and Cardamon is similar to Warm Nutmeg. River Mud is in a class of its own!

Hopefully I haven't added to your stress of picking colors - just wanted to share some of my favorites!
