River Day!

Yesterday we went to the river. There, we met up with another adoptive family. It was nice visiting with Pam and her family.

The river was cold, but very refreshing. John took some of the kids to the other side of the river to swing off the rope.

Dennis and Alex enjoyed playing in the sand.

Up river there is a little island which makes a long sandbank in the middle of the river-- this is a fun place to play around.

Anastasia is hardly hanging out by her bed anymore. She much prefers to be around all her siblings whether it be at the river or at home.

Here I am with Pam and Denise (who also joined us).

Caleb and Denise's son Vic are too funny. :)

That looks like a fun day! I really do admire how you've taken in all of these children and given them such a wonderful life.

Now for a question. I do not intend to be offensive, and I will try to be respectful… but please do not interpret my genuine curiosity for disrespect, because although my beliefs are entirely different than yours (I'm VERY liberal, and waver between being an agnostic and atheist), I am not in the business of being mean… just trying to understand. I read in an earlier post of yours that you do not believe in teaching homosexuality in school (or something akin to that; please correct me if I am wrong). Do you believe that homosexuality exists, or that those folks are just "ungodly" in some manner. (I know that some religious folks think that you can be "cured" of it). If one of your children came out as gay, would you support them? Would you brush if off as if it wasn't true? What would you do? I would hate to think that you would turn your back on them (not saying you would). I'm just honestly interested to hear your thoughts on this (and anybody else who wants to chime in).

I really enjoyed meeting you in person. Your family is just as sweet in person as on your blog. I loved watching you with all your kids and the way you and John so lovingly played with them. Your children are blessed to have you guys!
