I sat like a zombie on a blanket on the grass. After all, it was pushing 10 o'clock at night. At least I was doing better than Anastasia and Paul who had both fell asleep around 7 pm. We tried to tell them about the fireworks and we did everything to get them to enjoy them-- but it was no use. Can you believe John even went and got them both out of bed and carried them outside to see one firework? They were not very happy about it. John even held a sparkler with Paul thinking that might excite him--- but jet lag had the best of him.
But--- Praise the Lord-- now there will be a next Fourth of July for them!
Everyone else enjoyed themselves!
We are so thankful to live in America!

What a sweet 4th of July (even though some slept through the festivities). You are right that they will now have many more 4ths in the future to celebrate. It will be a fun story to remind them of next year--that Dad carried them outside to partake in the fun.
God Bless,
Kathie
Next 4th of July will be much better enjoyed no doubt about it.
We really didn't do anything for the holidays as the "Packers" came yesterday to pack us out for the cross country move and I had yet to do more things to get ready for them. So here I sit this morning is a sea of boxes waiting for them to come back today to finish the job...
Perfectly understandable that they would be exhausted. Not only physically...but emotionally.
There will be next year...and who says you can't set off a sparkler or two on another night?
I looked at the pictures on your adoption blog. Anastasia and Paul are beautiful! Congratulations! Hope they adjust quickly. :)
Welcome home ... it's been fun following your adoption adventures. And a big welcome hug to the 2 new Reed children ... they are both adorable and I'm sure will bring much joy and blessings to you all.
What great photos! I really love the ones of Annalyn and Anna. Anna's sure got some long legs there, is she going through another growth spurt?
I hope your body gets its internal clock back on track soon. Praying for your normal health and energy to be back soon!
