I brought a kitten home when I was a kid, and for some reason we just thought it was a girl (I think the person who gave it to me said it was a girl). My grandmother used to say to my mother "you had better get that cat to the vet soon." Then one day she said "that cat is pregnant -- better get her to the vet". Off went my Mum and the cat only to be told it was a boy - my Mum felt rather foolish that she didn't know. Anyway she came home and told my grandmother that it was "too late - the cat is pregnant". My grandmother went on and on about "I told you that cat was pregnant. You should have taken it in when I first said - blah, blah, blah". We laughed and laughed. We never did change his name. He was Fluffy till the day he died at age 19!
We've had that same problem before! And once, my mother-in-law gave me a kitten, telling me she knew it was a girl because it had nipples. I replied, Yes, so does your husband!"

Whoops. Was this revelation part of the "spay" appointment at the vet?
On the other hand, maybe just take an "l" out and it'll be like Bela Karolyi . . .
Funny! Details, details....
