And I am overwhelmed from information overload. Can I do it? Should I take a class? I am so excited.... I hope I don't drop it. At least I put the strap on right. There is so much to learn. I will probably need tons of practice.

I am positive you bought a camera, but you've left us hanging on which one! If you went with a DSLR, YOU will LOVE it!!!!!!!! And, there is nothing wrong with starting out in automatic mode. I did. And, yes it will be a new hobby. Soo sooo addictive.
