After ice-cream, we went to the park for an hour.
When we got home, the kids continued to play outside in the backyard. All was fine, until Andrew came in to tell me that he had kicked the ball over the fence into the neighbor's yard---the new one he just bought. Well without going into detail, this neighbor is not all that friendly, and even I knew better than to allow my kids to jump the fence quickly to get it. So sadly, they watched the dog chew up the new ball wishing with all their might that they could go and get it.
Later on, the gardener threw it back over to them--- all chewed up. My kids tried to convince themselves that it wasn't so bad--- but believe me, it was.
Later, the boys came in and played with their HotWheel race car track.

when I was a kid there was this nasty old man that used to pinch all the balls that were accidentaly thrown in is backyard... why some people have to be so angry at life?
We haven't had much luck with soccer balls lately either!
Spring is my favorite... the days seem so much longer now, don't they!!??

Nasty neighbor you have there.
Shame about the kids ball and having such a grumpy neighbour. But apart from that it sounds like a lovely warm, sunny and fun day. We are currently enjoying lots of time outside also in the beautiful autumn weather we're having. Such a relief from the sweltering heat.
Cranky neighbors are a bummer. I'm guessing they are not very happy with themselves to be grouchy about a ball in their yard. We're just waiting for real spring weather in Finland already. Our snow piles are slowly shrinking, but I'm just lonesome for a warm, sunny, dry day - and spend all day outside with the kids!
Yesterday was a beautiful day. The whole neighborhood was playing in our front yard yesterday evening after dinner. And tomorrow they're predicting cold weather and thunder storms. Hmm! That's spring for ya!
Could be your kids soccer ball brought some fun into the otherwise miserable life of a lonely dog. Well, it could be...
We have a not very nice neighbor that popped any balls that came over her fence. What a sad lesson to have to teach our children: "Be careful not to let your balls go over the fence or Ms. So-n-So will pop them."
Wow, do your kids play that well everyday? Mine (although I only have two) cannot entertain themselves without trying to beat each other up, lol.
