Well, if he hates it so much, maybe offering to let him keep last year's version up for another year would be an idea. It will be his choice, looking juvenile or "ugly," although it is hard to imagine how that could be! But, kids that age are SO self-conscious, I try really hard to respect that for them. One had a 9th grade track picture that showed skinny arms that took nearly a decade before he could joke about it! I could never have displayed it since it made him feel so awful. And, it was a picture only a mother could love! I will be curious to see how you two resolve it. Also, if it's a question of complexion, I might scan and photoshop a picture.
