One morning, Andrew thought it would be cool to put on his jacket backwards. He even asked, "Can you cut out some holes for my eyes?"
Alex is just so precious. Plain and simple.... precious. Not only is he always this happy-go-lucky little boy, but he is also very sweet and polite and good-hearted. This morning as we were all getting into the car for church, two of the kids were arguing about where Alex's walker should go. Finally, John took hold of it and set it on his lap. Relieved, Alex gave a big, "Thank you Daddy!" It melted both our hearts.
Caleb surprised me with this sign he made in wood shop. He did such a great job on it-- I can't wait to hang it up!
Dennis is growing up so fast. Not only is he make-believe playing more and more, but he has also taken an interest in watching tv. Dennis was excited when Alex came over and got into this tent area that he made. I gave them some flashlights-- and they were two of the happiest boys on earth!
Please pray for Dennis. Ever since his last surgery, there has been an area on his temple that does not have skin covering it. I knew about it and cared for it per the doctor's instructions, and it was fine up until two days ago when Alex accidentally bonked a toy on it. Now I think it may be infected. It is getting better, but it is not back to how it was before the accident. I am giving it another day or two and if it doesn't continue to improve, I will take him back to the doctor.
William is on this fresh squeezed orange juice kick! Yum!
Ever since I began preparing the frames for the kids' new pictures, I realized that many of the pictures didn't turn out very well. Since Adam didn't like his at all, we decided to take a new one-- one that he would be happy for me to display. This is it! And we both love it! Gosh, is he one handsome young man! I'm also redoing a few of the other kids' picture too!
Recently, our family got new tennis rackets. One evening John played with the youngest three boys. They all took turns trying to hit the ball--- it was very cute!

Hi Christine,
Been reading for quite some time now... was wondering if you would do a little update on Dennis? Is he speaking yet? Just curious about such a cute little boy!
Wonderful photos! Love the sign that Caleb made - show us when you hang it up please :) And yes! Adam is a handsome young man! I like his new photo. Good of you to adjust their pics to their liking ... public school photographers rarely do a decent job. Schools usually try to keep costs low, and well, it often shows. I remember getting my photo taken once... I'd barely sat down and 'click' 'next!', no 'Say cheese' or 'are you ready?'... everybody's photos were terrible! We didn't get previews or retakes back then either :p You're a good mom!
Josh tries to play tennis with Isabel, too! It's funny to say the least! Isabel is also slightly more interested in TV now, and is also pretending more and more. It's so amazing to see these kiddos growing and learning!
I really appreciate your blog. My sister in law in New York follows your blog also. We didn't know that until we went to my dad's funeral, and began talking about this family we knew about. It was your family. I love the trials, and smiles. Your family is so real, your home is so real. Your the kind of family I would love to have over to hang out with. I will continue to follow the ups and downs of family life. I am praying for you all daily. Thank you for sharing with us. Kimberley
Caleb is just an amazing boy.
And Alex - what a peach. Somehow I could tell that he was so sweet natured. That little anecdote with the walker - my gosh; yes my heart would be melted. You'd want to do just about anything for him.
What a beautiful family!
