Thanks Sveta

This morning was fairly quiet. Thanks to the kids being up later than usual...... this will end in a few days. Winter break will be over and the kids will be back in their school schedule. It was just Sveta and I with the younger five boys. Hee hee... just..... I love it!

Anyway, I was popping out good ol' Eggo waffles for all the kids when I finally got a chance to sit down and enjoy my morning cup of coffee and waffles. By that time Sveta was finished eating and got up to put her plate in the sink. You'd think she would have went on her merry way, but instead she opened up the dishwasher and proceeded to unload it--- WITHOUT BEING ASKED! And after that, she loaded.

I am so proud of her. I used this moment to lift and encourage her. How responsible and mature of her to help out around the house without being asked. What a blessing it is for me not to worry about it, and end up asking her to do it later anyway. We have been working on this concept for quite a while with the kids-- it is awesome to see the kids catching on.

Great job Sveta!

WTG Sveta!

My dishwasher loader only does it without asking if she wants something...I know, moms should not be cynical, but that is the truth! LOL

Well done Sveta!
We are also working on this concept in our house... how lovely not to have to ask... and to get the chance to praise and thank a child for taking the initiative:) Makes the child feel good about themself and more inclined to look for opportunity to earn that praise again... at least that is how I am hoping it will work!!!

I'm curious: How soon after you had each adopted child home, did you encourage them to do their part with the house chores?

Can't beat that! It is the sort of thing Ilya will do all the time - one of his love languages - and it works for me!
