My problem is that I rarely have all the ingredients to make a particular recipe-- and so I improvise-- and it is so exciting to see a whole new creation be born!
These lemony, buttery, sweet, cream filled cookies were fun to make. They are so rich--- one is satisfying-- which is a rare characteristic for a cookie.
These cookies on the other hand are very addicting. No matter how big they are, you can't have just one. Interestingly enough, they are very healthy and their amazing crunch begs you to crumble them up on top of a scoop of ice-cream. Yum!
This salad is wonderful when you want to eat healthy. It is time consuming to prepare but it also stays crisp for a number of days outlasting any traditional leafy salad.

no not really.... I'm afraid to try new things because if no one likes it then we just wasted a lot of food. I WISH I could cook but I cant.
Oh my goodness please share the veggie salad recipe, it sure looks yummy....
YUMMMMM!! We need the recipes now!! Those last two salads are especially appealing to me!! I'm not a great cook and I only enjoy it if I'm not in a hurry - but I can always use a new recipe to spice up our menu!
Ok I need the recipes for the last two salads! MMMMMMMMMMMMM!
My personal favorite last-minute meal is a pasta bake. Whether it's with ground beef or cut-up chicken, I never cease to make a super tasty (and easy!) creation using the basic:
meat + pasta (I like penne) + veggies + spices + cheese + sauce
equation!
My latest one was ground beef with penne, garlic pasta sauce, about 5 more cloves of garlic chopped up, and green pepper. Topped with jalapeno mozzarella and feta, and baked, it was SOOOOOOOOO good!
I really love to cook too and I especially love to eat what I cook. I make new things all the time and my husband loves everything I cook, so therefore it is always a pleasure to cook. Your pictures look great and I am hoping you might share. I think the veggie salad has feta cheese in it - YUMMMM!!!!!
I LOVE to cook and especially to try different things with unusual ingredients. Sadly, my children do not appreciate my creativity. They would be content to eat cereal or pancakes every night. I love cooking for people who appreciate the time and love I have put into the meal.
V--- i want a pciture of your pasta bake! It sounds so yummy!
Yes, I like to cook, but I would prefer to do it less often :-)
Both salads look delish to me!!
Have you ever baked using gel coloring? I am discovering them this weekend, making a cool birthday cake for my daughter...

You can also use the gels for pancakes! VERY cool.
Also, have you ever heard of/used Sneaky Chef? I have had a fun time experimenting with her stuff.

Mmmm... all those foods look good. :) I enjoy doing a little cooking now and then, but my little sister loves to cook and so it's mostly left in her hands, haha.
while I'm sat reading this I have a pot of experment on my stove - a load of onions chopped in the food processor, chopped tomatoes, beef broth and some paprika and some water. Going to see what it turns out like :)
Um, recipes please!!!
Yes I like to cook but not very adventerous. If given the choice I make sweets. This is my weakness. And I second all the requests for the recipes. PLEASE share.
Yummy! I LOVE to cook - I consider it my therapy. It blows Zack's mind that I wold want to come home from a long day at work and get in the kitchen, but to me it is very therapeutic! Like you, I tend to create and improvise a lot.
Totally not fair!! You can't share all of these pictures of yummy food and NO recipes! ;)
HELLO?!?! Where are the recipes???????
It's getting cold here and I think a big pot of chili sounds mighty tasty right now! I like to start with some bacon fried crisp and usually add a can or two of white hominy along with the juice once it gets cooking. Mmmmm, yummy!! Gotta get it made before someone eats up all my tortilla chips! I wonder if we have any sour cream?
Love to cook... also love to make cakes. It was a big fundraiser when we were trying to get Daisy home. I just wish I had more time to do it more often.
Your food looks like it is fit for pig slop. cheap and high in fat and carbs. Christina you are no cook! you are not a doctor! you certainly are not an adoption expert and should be turned into DCFS for encouraging unground disruptions.
Why don't you mind your business and take care of your children, instead of making comments about other children who are 4,000 miles away and don't belong to you.
I'm adding my vote to the need for recipes please. I'd eat all of them.
I am not a big fan of cooking, but love to eat! ;) I would eat all of that and now I am hungry!! LOL
Yes, I love to cook and bake and like you I have been doing this since about 12 years old. Nothing brings me greater pleasure then to see everyone enjoying what I have prepared.
I love to cook and experiment with foods - but I don't like to make desserts. Not only do I not enjoy the process, I know I am wasting my time, and likely food. We rarely eat desserts and while we might sample something the day I make it, it gets thrown out a few days later.. I might have to do so more often though. Our landlord/upstairs neighbor is a nice lady/grandma who keeps sending us homemade sweets! One of these days I need to treat her back!
Please share the recipes. :). Those salads look amazing!!
Oh Christine! No fair to post the pictures and no recipes! The last two pasta dishes look amazing, yum! I love to cook, bake. I don't get to do too much of it for myself, but I like cooking for others when I can, and I'm pretty good at making things from scratch too!
I love coking!
Christine, I'm alwayed amazed at your skill at budgeting and making great food, but I think cooking might work out cheaper per person if you are doing large numbers.
The last thing I baked was stale donut bread and butter pudding, omnom!
At the weekend I made mashed potato for 100 with a potato ricer, I thought it would never end. It was for a canal conservation party which was great fun.
All that stuff looks yummy! I usually like to cook, but I go through times where I just don't feel like it, but I do it anyhow. I LOVE trying new recipes.
I LOVE to cook and bake.
Like you it is my way of showing my family and friends how much I care for them.
Infact I have a bowl of dough rising away in my kitchen ready for me to roll out to make cinnamon rolls for the kids afternoon tea on their return from school.A blancmange setting in the fridge and the ground beef out ready to make rissoles ready for tea..
Oh and definatly share the recipes for the salads please..
Dear Christine,
Can you please give us the recipes to both kids of cookies, as well as both salads? They all look wonderful! Thanks!
Sonia :-)
Yes and no. Fussy eaters take the fun out of cooking, but now there is just Mr Sunshine and me. The down side is that he puts on weight at the drop of chocolate button so I still have to choose carefully. Artificial colouring, too much sugar and other food additives are a big no-no for the grandchildren who get 'hyped' up on them. Old fashioned favourites get the thumbs up every time and they are usually healthier.
Your pics all look delicious.
We love cooking and creating! That salad looks divine!
Yes I LOVE cooking!
Could you please share the biscuit recipe that's healthy as well - I'm trying to bake more healthily & it's hard to find good recipes! :)
recipes please!! :-) They all look yummy!
I have always liked to cook/bake but was getting bored with the same old things so since the beginning of the year I have tried to pick and use at least one new recipe a week!
I keep my recipes at www.mylindasdinnerblog.blogspot.com
Wow..all looks so good.
and who says you can't cook???
hmmm i beg to differ.
the salads look delish!
Mmmmmm those all look so good! When you get the time, could you share all of the recipes on your blog? I really liked the look of the last two salads (considering I'm on a diet) and the desserts also looked amazing, so I'll have to try them out for my holiday baking.
I love it when you tell us about your cooking adventures - you're such a great cook!
I have never liked to cook, but I now love cooking for my family. I love planning, shopping, and preparing a meal for them. It is truly one of the joys of motherhood and an unexpected one for this "non-cook"!
