He still enjoys having fun with the kids and finds the coolest ways to entertain them. One evening he made their names into mazes. The kids thought it was so cool! What was cooler was driving your finger through the complex maze---- I was impressed!
I was approached in the parking while loading groceries into my car. "Would you like to buy some tamales?" "I sure would!" Yum! I admire these women who are obviously trying to find ways to earn extra money. Since I can't make a tamale to save my life, it was nice to buy some from her. Definitely a win-win situation.
Mr. President loves to dress up crazy. He is so outgoing-- and not shy at all!
Go Caleb! Go Caleb!

A few of the kids were talking about rules that students break in their class that ends up getting them detention. It was interesting to hear how goody-goody my kids are. Annalyn admitted to sneaking a few of her Cheetos during a test------ quite the rebel she is!

When the little boys go down for their naps today, I am taking the kids over to Michaels. We are going to focus on the cake decorating aisle. This is something I think all of the kids can get into, and it would be a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time with the kids with an awesome and creative dessert to enjoy at the end. Plus, we will have 40% off coupons! Plus, John can get some quiet rest while we are out!

Hope the sickies in your house get well soon and don't share their germs. My two granddaughters are sick with the flu (regular old flu) even though they had their flu shots this fall. I hope their parents don't get it and that they are well in a few days as my SIL and the girls fly to visit his parents for a week on Fri. and my daughter goes with a school group to look at colleges in Scotland.
Looking for a post later tonight about what creation you and the kids come up with for dessert after going to Michael's this afternoon.
It's a gorgeous fall day here in CT and I have windows open even though the air is cool.
Hope everyone is well soon.
my mom and my youngest sister got into cake decorating whilst I was working at Adullam House this summer. I do not have the talent that they have, they make beautiful cakes, but I love to eat them. :) Decorating cookies is fun though, it's something that I look forward to doing with my whole family at Christmas time :) hope your kids feel better!!!
I hope the flu will be out of your house soon!I had the svine flu about a week ago and I'm still not well enough to go to school. It can be quite aggressive.
I loooove Caleb's clothing style! He's kinda like me, he doesn't really care if other people think it's crazy! I love dressing up crazy and have other people looking at me and asking what kind of fashion I'm following? Well, the answer is: MY OWN! :D
I pray that John will get better and the everyone else stays well.
Can't wait to see what awesome cake creations you all come up with. I love making food with my kids. Especially cupcakes and cookies. Have fun!!
We have sickies here also today. So far, just two of mine are running fevers. I hope your house is completely on the mend soon.
Here is a great, CHEAP, and actually yummy tasting marshmallow fondant recipe that I have used MANY times now. It is very easy to make and your kiddos can mold decorations for their cake, just as they would mold play dough.
Enjoy!

If John is not better by tomorrow you might want to take him to the Doctor and get him some Tamiflu.
You might could call and see if the Doctor would just call in some Tamiflu. I a lot of them are doing that just so they do not infect other patients.
Cake Decorating, How fun! I wish I had the patience to do stuff like that. When I was younger I did but not now. LOL!!

I pray that John and Julia are better quickly. I think it's common to think of loosing our husbands at times, especially when they are sick. I don't mean to dwell in it or panic, but I think it is a more common thought than others may admit. Just my opinion. So, I guess I'm saying, if your odd, then so am I, lol. ;o)
Praying John and Julia are better soon. I don't think it's too odd to think about loosing your husband when he is sick. To me it is a common concern, whether people like to admit it or not. At least I think it is, so if your odd, then I guess I am too ;o)
We're sick here too...pretty sure it's the flu too.
God is sovereign. Trusting Him for our healing.
Love your mazes idea...so creative!
Blessings,
Holly
I find it hard when my husband gets ill, its a stark reminder off how much i love and need him in my life. I hope John is feeling better soon and pray its not this awful swine flu that is everywhere at this time.
I love the picture of Caleb, i adore his sense of style.
xx
I sure hope John feels better soon, and that the rest of you stay healthy.
I love that Caleb feels free to be himself and do what he wants - this is such an important trait!
(I hope this isn't a dupe - my internet is flakey)
I hope John is better soon, and that the rest of you stay healthy!! And I love that Caleb is not afraid to be himself! That is very important.
John is very talented and an amazing daddy...love those mazes!
lol my fashionista 13 yo daughter would cringe at Caleb's outfit but I love his individuality!!
Yummy!! I love homemade tamales! And, I love Michael's. I am a sucker for their 40% of coupons and use mine just about every week!
Those tamales are what we call chuchitos down here. :) I ate a gazillion of them when I was pregnant with Dorian!
Speaking of making tamales, I asked my maid to teach me how to make them the other day and we had so much fun! The boys helped assemble them. It's quite the process . . . took us three days!
be careful of buying food from unlicensed street vendors. my family got sick doing this one time.
now we order our tamales during the holidays from a nice mexican restaurant.
