It's a Doggy... No, It's a Lion.......

No it's my Dennis!

When I went to pick Dennis up from pre-school the other day, he couldn't wait to show me the things he had made. I think they are so cute! He is absolutely loving school! He is learning by leaps and bounds and is even using two word sentences now. "Hey Mom!", "My car.", "No, mine.", "Daddy's car." I am the proudest woman in the world to be this little guys Mama!

Here are a few other things that I have noticed about Dennis:

* He has started giving hugs to family members when they come home.

* He is now noticing family members outside of our home. He is much more friendly towards them and makes an effort to interact with them. He also enjoys giving them hugs too.

*He likes to be helpful whenever he can. He will get the stool to wash up. He will bring Alex his walker. He will comb his own hair and get himself dressed. He wants to pour the cup over his own head to rinse off the shampoo. He likes to help set the table.

* He is very used to me cleaning out his eye now and even points to it and says, "Eye."

* Dennis is very curious about how flashlights work.

* Dennis loves when we rub noses. If I stop moving my head back and forth, he will move his to make sure we continue rubbing noses.

Dennis and Alex are such wonderful brothers to each other. They are a perfect match. Yes, Dennis is younger than Alex, but he continues to act like the older brother simply because he is more familiar with the rules and how things are done in our home. However, Alex is more patient with Dennis when Dennis takes toys out of his hand or takes off with his walker. They both express love for each in such the cutest ways--- even their teachers notice it.

The other day as I was wiping the boys' hands and faces up after lunch, Dennis got down, went and got a rag, and started wiping down the table. When I noticed it and praised Dennis, Alex gave him a thumbs up and shouted, "Good job Dennis!"

I just "Awww!"ed out loud! What a cute Dennis is with the dog and lion hats; he's SO adorable!
And Alex's "Good job, Dennis" is too cute!!!

Will you ever put up a video of the two of them talking? That'd be cool :).

Soooo cute! Christine, I am so glad you found my blog, and now I've found yours right back. It is so great to meet you. I have to say, I stand in awe. I often find it challenging to raise two kids, one with cerebral palsy, although he is doing a lot better than the doom-and-gloom doctors said he would; I can't imagine raising three kids with special needs, and so many others. We are still trying to decide on #3!

Aww...Super cute! I lve how big his smile always is! It sure sounds like he is learning a lot and loving school. Are Dennis and Alex in the same class with the same teachers at school? If they are that would probably help them both at least being together. :) By the sounds of it Alex is also learning very quickly. His language after only being home a short time is amazing. Great Job with them both!!

I am ridicously proud of Dennis. I can't even begin to imagine how proud his Mama must be. As Alex would say: Good job!

that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. especially when he brings Alex his walker, it is like Dennis is the grown up big brother showing his new brother the ropes. i love it.

OOOh I think I shed a tear at the good job Dennis part!

All this time I've been meaning to thank you, a long time ago I mentioned on FRUA wanting to adopt a child with special needs and everyone said as a single I should not do that, you came in and made me feel normal. This was ages ago, but I never got the chance to thank you outside of the post! Thank you!
