Indoor Activities

Alex is such a cutie. He is also a sponge. He is learning his shapes, and colors and we are working on his pencil grip. Recently, the OT determined that he is right hand dominant-- but just by a bit. Still, we are going with that just so he can finally begin coloring, painting, and hopefully writing. The OT has wonderful suggestions to build up Alex's upper body strength and the preschool teacher is working with him whenever she gets the chance, and Alex is getting stronger every day because of it! Busy as we are, I still try to find a few minutes here and there to reinforce what he is learning at school-- but yes, I still don't do it enough.

The kids come home from school with a ravenous appetite----- every single day. One day, I made popcorn with real melted butter--- so much better than those packages of microwave popcorn---- if you have the time.

The kids polished off three bowls!
Dennis and Alex continue to find new ways to entertain themselves. It is such a blessing to have both of them home this year.

I have to admit, that after reading on another blog that they had just got done playing the game, "Word Rummikub," I turned green with envy. I absolutely love regular Rummikub and to think that there was a word version and I didn't have the game made me crazy! It became my mission to find and buy the game-- but I could not find it. Why? Because it is only sold in the UK. Go figure. So, I went and bought it off of Ebay--- and in less than a week, we have played at least 20 games. AND WE ALL LOVE IT!

The girls have been on a knitting/crocheting kick for the past week. I think Adam has actually missed the girls bugging him and so he decided to come and try knitting with them.
I think he better stick with guitar.
I went to the dentist earlier this week, and praise God, I have no cavities. Caleb went to the orthodontist and found out that it will be a few more months before his braces come off-- which he is a little bummed out about. Jonny went to the eye doctor who suggested that his prescription change drastically since his current glasses appeared to be forcing his right eye to turn outward-- which is something recent. So, he is going back to a single prescription with a much lighter correction----- hope this helps him. The doctor also thinks the patching is not helpful so we are completely cutting that out too. We'll have to just wait and see how Jonny does with his new glasses!

Honor has been asking for "Aunt Christine's red popcorn"! She doesn't eat much regular popcorn, but she loves your cinnamon treats!

Our kids come home starved too - although I'm learning they are also thirsty and make them drink water first to quench that, before filling up on food that might spoil dinner. Currently, we are on a peanut butter sandwich kick - no jam, they don't like it, but we add a little nutella. Mmmm!

Homemade popcorn is the best! You have inspired me with the talk about playing a game. I think I will break out the UNO soon. Fun!
We watch too much tv. Your boys are sooooo cute together. You are truly a blessed family and an inspiration.

wow, busy and fun! I think the popcorn snack is a great idea. My kids love it when dad makes "homemade" popcorn! And all your kids look great. I love that Adam tried to knit and that Dennis is pushing Alex around in a shopping cart! (or as they say in the South, a buggy)
