Happy Birthday Mom and Grandma!

I have kept it no secret what an amazing family I married into, and my mother-in-law is no exception. I am so blessed to have such an awesome second set of parents. Anyway, my Mom celebrated a special birthday yesterday and we had her over to honor her as our Mom and grandma to all of the kids.

Julia wanted the honor of presenting Grandma with her cake.

Mom likes lemons so I made her a lemon cake!

The girls either knitted or crocheted Grandma something!

For dinner, Anna and I made Mexican food!

It started with good ol' chuck roast.

Anna and I made a homemade sauce with dried chiles, garlic, red onion, and tomatoes that was later pureed and mixed with cola.

While that was simmering, we assembled the cake. Nothing like lemon pudding sandwiched between two layers of lemon cake--- Mmmmm!

These Cola Shredded Beef Tacos were delish!
