The loveseat was finally delivered this week---- and still some kids prefer the floor. Go figure. :)
Alex enjoys listening to Julia play-- and I couldn't resist taking this picture from the top of the stairs. Julia, Andrew, and Adam started back up at music school. They all seem to really enjoy it--- even Jonny who is being taught by Grandma.
Call it laziness-- I prefer to call it culinary creativity-- but mashed potatoes with the skins on is really yummy! Try mixing red and russet potatoes for a nice blend of sweetness and earthiness--- mmm-mmm good!
Well--- I think the cats are here to stay. My kids are just crazy about them. Turns out they are a Mama and daughter---- and this is how I found out. I walked out my front door and saw this-- I felt like I should cover my eyes---- the Mama kitty was sucking her own nipple for milk! Seriously!

Hi Christine. I was just checking to see if you were home and how all is going. Looks like I have missed a lot. Well I did want to say that I have missed your posts and I realized that more and more after I started reading. I look forward to playing catch up.
BTW your pasta dinner looked scrumptious!!! :)
Aw! Mama kitty probably started doing that because she was SO hungry before you all took them in! YOu should call some local cat shelters because some of them offer Free spay/neuter if they are/were a stray. Then you won't have to worry about future kittens.
Alex looks like he is developing some very sweet relationships with his siblings! It's so precious to watch the blossom!

Oh yay, cats! How exciting!

I always leave the skins on the mashed potatoes too, they just taste better that way! :)
I have 2 black cats also- they have great personalities-
This Saturday morning was crazy for me- I dropped my oldest son off at his residence for university!- My husband and I were saying- did we not just bring him home as a newborn?
Enjoy these days with your little boys- they grow up so fast!
Alex looks like he fits right in.
I agree about the cats. Hope they stay. They can always sleep in your garage if you leave the door open a crack. They definitely need to be fixed.
Very thoughtful of your husband to give you the extra sleep time yesterday morning.
Sweet picture of Alex sitting on Julia's lap while she played the piano. He must be loving all the affection and attention from his sibblings.
That momma cat will love you like no other pet when she realizes you're going to care for her for real.
When I bought this house the prior owners left me a pregnant cat. She gave birth the night I got possession. I took her and the babies in. She had been so abused that I had to take her and all the babies to the vet. After a few weeks of high calorie food and lots of love she was the absolute sweetest thing. I couldn't keep her or the babies; I already had 3 cats, but she loved me dearly. She went to be someone's barn cat, but he fell in love too so she became his tv cat (slept on it) and the kittens all went to good homes.
That's sad that mama kitty was that hungry--I have 4 stray cats and a stray dog that I feed. Like the new furniture
Ah, Shabbats are sooo not for sleeping in! :-) It's very nic e of John to get up with the kids!
Here kids have school 6 days a week--Friday only half days, though--and we try to make it to Kabbalat Shabbat (Friday evening) and then Shabbat morning services at our local synagogue. Even if we don't make it, Saturday mornings we have breakfast together, and Torah study. So it leaves me with no morning lie ins all week. Can't wait for the holidays to start (kids have 3 days off for Rosh HaShanah in two weeks).
Kittens, yay!
I just noticed that Alex and you have matching eye colour!
Yay for cute kitties! I think the mama cat was just cleaning out the old stale milk for her baby to get some sweet fresh milk.
I dropped by to say I've found a great knitting a crochet website with loads of free patterns. Its called raverly. I hope ypu and your kids enjoy it. http://www.ravelry.com/
Hi..
No sleeping on Saturdays here either. I got up..fed my kids..and loaded them up..took them to Zooz..then home..quick nap for Abby..clean..tidy and then we had people over in honour of Nick going to University..(he's staying home because it's only a half hour away) but still we wanted to celebrate.
..
love the kitty pics.

My kids woke me up at 6 a.m. Saturday morning. Eesshhh, I sure wish they would sleep in a little :)
The kitties are so cute! We currently have 5 cats and a dog at our house. We had one cat and one dog until our neighbors threw out their cat because she was pregnant. I couldn't just leave her out in the weather with her babies so took her in. She had 4 kittens. We've only managed to get someone to take 1. I sure would like to find good homes for all but the mama kitty.
