My sweet little sleep-walking Andrew comes crying downstairs----- totally asleep and in the middle of a bad dream. Not much I can do to wake him, so I lead him back upstairs and try to talk to him. He asks to sleep in our room. So I tuck him in.

He continues to shake and talk in his sleep. He is obviously still dreaming. Something about a sixth grader slamming a book on him. I continue to stroke his hair and talk to him.

Finally......
Andrew seems to snap out of it. I have eye contact. We pray.

And then I start to fill his head with new thoughts. A family outing.... sharing an ice-cream cone.

He smiles.

"Hey Andrew, why do you like to come to Mom and Dad's bed all the time?"

"It comforts me," he said as he drifted off back to sleep.

What a sweetheart.

Sweet.... (not the sleepwalking part)

Tiarna sleeps walks off the top bunk hence the reason she is now on the bottom!

This is just too precious. Nothing like the comfort of mom and dad for the children to run to.

Our kids sleepwalk as well - although usually it's when they need to go to the toilet.
Sounds like you're looking forward to your family outing!

I have a sleep walker. She went out the door one night. It can be a scary thing!

♥ That's what we do too, sing a primary song say a prayer and back to bed. Usually that's all it takes... I remember having terrible dreams when I was young... I still hate that feeling of being out of control even while sleeping!

Aw! :) I don't have a sleepwalker, but I do get the screams from across the house when nightmares attack. Once my 6yo told me that sometimes she has a very scary dream, but is too tired to wake up and call or come to me. I suggested that if she is awake enough to know she is dreaming, she could go somewhere else in her dreamland, away from the frightening things. She thought a minute and then said "ok, I'll come into your dream and dream-you can protect me!" That was a reassuring idea to her, and one of the sweetest things this mom has heard - such faith! :) Hugs to Andrew - we miss you guys!
