Growing Up Too Fast

This is the adoption announcement I put together for Alex. I wish I could have snapped my fingers and sent it out to everyone--- but instead I am posting it here.

Isn't this the truth? Yes, children are a gift from God.

Thank you Chris--- what a wonderful thing to have hanging in my living room.

The other day I threw together this stew. I tried to imitate the Ukrainian dish we would get from the deli back in Kramatorsk-- but mine didn't come close. Oh well, it was devoured anyway.

Alex is a great eater! He is always so complimentary of what I serve.
He is not too keen about cold things though, but he was a good sport and ate a few bites of this popsicle anyway.
Over the weekend, Sveta had to do an atom project. Julia helped

as did Dad.
Dennis has been showing signs that he is no longer a little baby anymore. He is playing with things like this marble structure and legos, and blocks. He is very curious about how things work, and he insists on doing things himself.
He can now put on his own shoes, and he loves getting dressed. Often times we will find him wearing three pairs of shorts!
Alex loves to watch tv! I am happy to see that he can follow a plot and that the language difference hasn't deterred him in any way. His language has exploded-- now he has no problem stringing three and even four English words together to make a sentence!
Did I mention that he is a cuddlebug?

This morning Julia asked me to help her with her Converse. I had showed her a "cool" way to wear them and she needed me to show her again.

Dennis thought his cereal was a bit too boring this morning, so Mom to the rescue! How about a few bananas?

Dennis ate it right up!

Jonny is so playful with his younger brothers. He, and Dennis, and Spongebob were riding their cars all over the house.

He had Dennis following his every move!
It was adorable!

Spongebob thought it would be cool to hitch a ride with Dennis. Dennis was thrilled about it!

Watch out! Here comes some crazy drivers!
I saved the cutest picture for last!

That 'stew' looks yummy..and those photos of the boys are too cute.

Also I wanted to ask you where I could get those decals you have on your car? I would need them to be able to ship to Australia. I have tried to find them here but to no avail..any help would be appreciated, thanks..

Indeed you did! (save the cutest picture for last)
But I'm wondering, what is that "cool" way to wear the shoes?

Really lovely announcement!

How did you fix the dish? It looks very yummy and something similar (though not quite as greasy) to something they sell at my favourite Turkish fast food in Budapest!

I really love the way the cross is made! I have made a very similar pattern wall hanging for my sister in law for her birthday, using the same verse (except KJV and Hebrew original) in the shape of a star of David: she has 6 kids, so their photos all fit in nicely), but the colours in your cross are way prettier.

We have the same marble thing.

The transformation of Denis has been amazing and so fast! Hard to believe he's been with you for just over a year. Looking over old posts, you see the independence coming so fast. Not the norm when you have older siblings usually.

Yeah, about the cool way with the Converse...and how is it that these fads fly around the country (said the mom of the 8th grader Converse wearer who found them at the outlet;-)

It looks like Alex is getting some muscle in his legs. This is amazing. I was comparing a couple of his pictures and its definately there. Maybe not much, but in only a couple months this is great. You need to take a pic of him sitting and compare it to his older ones. Apparently having the desire to follow mommy and siblings around is a great thing for him.
