I nearly made myself sick this evening so much corn. I did not tell my son and foster daughter that they did NOT have to eat corn so that I could have more all to myself. My word...I love corn.
My 6 yr old did not tell me "momma u are going to loose weight from eating so much corn". When asked "why do you say that" he said "Because eating that much veggies will make you loose weight".
ROFL...if only he knew how much momma will be paying for it later.
We or should I say "MY DAUGHTER AND I" LOVE sweet corn.
Ha Ha Shucking I have not heard that word since growing up in Iowa where we would shuck hundreds of ears for canning (well we called it canning but we put it in bags) on my cousins farm! WOW who would have thought one word could bring up so many memories... I have pictures running through my head of being up to my knees in shucks in the back of my uncles truck LOL
I love corn. I remember summers when my daughter was growing up, we'd be at the beach cottage and lunch would be corn-on-the cob many weekends as we all loved it.
That's a nice neighbor to bring you that much corn. They must have a relative that has a big farm.
Good luck with fitting everything in before leaving in a few days. You must be on such a whirlwind but a natural high.
Know you enjoyed that! We're hoping to have some soon. My hubby put up an electric fence to try to keep the raccoons out of our patch. Otherwise they'll ruin an entire crop by tearing down the stalks and taking a few nibbles out of each ear that is just ready to pick.
Looks like a fun corn shucking party...though I would be tempted to shuck mine while swinging. No local corn here in CT yet...with all the RAIN we've been having, not sure we will have corn this year.
We LOVE corn here! got a bargain last week, 99c for 4. It's hard to get whole ears anymore around here, I always grab some when I see it because it tastes so much better!

i love corn! it is one of the few things my son is not allergic to! creamed corn is the best!!!!
