Cinnamon Popcorn and Dinner

Today Jonny, Dennis, and I made two huge batches of Cinnamon Popcorn. Literally, they helped me measure, stir, and sample--- and it was a lot of fun.

Jonny took extra care in writing his appreciation cards out to his speech teachers. It was really sweet the way he even insisted on licking the envelopes to seal them up.

The idea was for his teachers to be handed the basket with the card and popcorn inside. Not expensive by any means, but certainly delicious and thoughtful. So I walked Jonny to the office today and reminded him to tell his teachers thanks for me too when he was at the pizza party. I left to run a few errands and when I came back to pick up Jonny, I saw him come running out of the office holding the two baskets. Oh no, I thought. Jonny only gave them the popcorn and card. Great, I thought. Now his teachers think I'm super-duper cheap. Oh well. In the grand scheme of things, what did bringing back the baskets really hurt? Jonny really only cared about the cards he wrote out anyway. I'm pretty sure, that is what counts.

As my husband sweetly clued you into (after I went to bed last night), today was my birthday. Thank you for all the well wishes! It was very nice of all of you! I am no longer 33. To celebrate, we went out to dinner with our good friends Paul and Tina. My two Moms and Dad watched all the kids.

IT WAS NICE. The company was awesome, the food was yummy, and the best part was that I did not once wonder how my kids were doing because I just knew that my kids were in good hands. I just knew. And having that peace of mind while you are out on a date with your hubby makes it all the better!

P.S. Only two more days till my kids are out of school.

P.S.S. I must say that I think Dennis' eye is looking great! (I won't even tell you that I removed the stitches myself this morning because the thought of him going back for a procedure so soon after being traumatized seemed really unfair to my little guy) I went back and looked at the picture of him and Jonny holding the baskets and all I could do was smile. :)

I hope you had a great birthday! You are truly amazing to take out the stitches by yourself is very brave. I don't know if I could of done that, though who knows I've done many medical things I never thought I would ever do these past few years.

Do you ever go camping? Have you ever taken the family to Disneyland, just wondering if you are planning a vacation? I hope so.

Sounds like you had a wonderful birthday. Now that school will be out, can you send some of your kids my way so they can teach my three boys how to clean? LOL

I hope you all have a great summer.

Our kids only have two days of school left also. Seems like everyone else has been out of school for a while now! I am looking forward to having them home!

How do you make the cinnamon popcorn?

Wishing you a happy birthday. Bet you're looking forward to the long summer holidays - time to relax with the kids and put rigid routine to one side for a while. Enjoy!

I thought the same thing, when I saw the picture of Dennis, "his eye is looking really good", and then I went back to blow the picture up to get an even better look. It is really amazing! I am glad you took the stitches out yourself. We should have done that seven years ago when my daughter had her appendix taken out. The surgeon went on vacation so we ended up going back to get the stitches out late...the skin had grown back and it was just awful! Never again!
