My littlest one is addicted to Doritos. All my kids love Poptarts and I love them because it gives me the occasional break from making breakfast. Surprisingly water is the beverage of choice in my house. Plus we use it to mix juice, tea, Kool-aid, etc. We go through about 3 gallons a day!
1. Juice (and we drink it very diluted with water!)
2. Salad (good greens)
3. Light bulbs (because of wild power fluctuations, they are always(!) blowing out. We have many different shapes and types of bulbs, which are not always easy to find... grr!)
One thing we will miss about Cairo is delivery. What delivery? Everything is delivered! Except maybe light bulbs... why is that?? I would keep that number on speed dial.
I'm with you all, and I only have 4 kids! We also run out of lunch meat for sandwiches, as peanut butter is taboo at our schools. And socks...it doesn't seem to matter how often I buy socks, my kids are always searching for socks! Ergh!
2. Bread - one sandwich for everyone and there goes one loaf!
3. Tortillas - my kiddos eat them up like crazy. Since they are so expensive here I've started making my own...so easy!
Toilet paper...that's funny. We had only 1 bathroom until recently. Now with 3 bathrooms and the same number of people we use twice as much toilet paper. Explain that to me.
My husband and I made an agreement: we will ALWAYS bring a loaf of bread home from the store, because we are ALWAYS out...and if we still have some when we go to the store, it might be gone when we get back, anyway.
In my house it's bread, milk and cereals. My kids will eat weetbix, cornlakes or, if they're on special, cheerios, at any time of the day or night - and that's what the milk's for too. Wholemeal bread is a good filler too, I find, especially with the boys and men.
Oh, I have the opposite problem. Because my attention span stinks sometimes, I tend to focus very hard on remembering something. When it is something I don't use a ton, like a spice or baking supply I will proudly remember and pick it up several times. Which is why I currently have 4 cans of Pam in my cupboard right now, even though I use it about once every 4 months. Oops.
