The supervisor that I ended up talking to was able to get the medical group who authorizes insurance benefits to push the referral through. It looks like Dennis, God willing, will be able to see the ocularist this week afterall!
Wooot-wooot! I'll keep you posted!
Remember, no one will advocate for your child more than you! Press on!

This is, indeed, encouraging news! I was as disappointed as you when I read your previous post!
I SOOOOOO identify with you. I can remember times where I became physically ill after dealing with medical people/issues. Keep fighting for your beautiful boy when you must!!
I tend to be an easy going person and difficult to rile, but when the decision makers start slacking with my kids....well... my kids call me crazy-dragon-lady and no one seems to like her much. LOL!
Darn insurance companies! Good for you and your perseverance! We'll be thinking and praying for Dennis and you this week.
Insurance is just ridiculous sometimes. Why do you need pre-approval for that?! It's obvious he should at the very least be evaluated.
Keep at 'em girl!
Thats great. And yes , I totally agree. I am my children's biggest advocate.and i get pretty upset at times as well.
Excellent!!!!
You GO girl! Way to take care of it. You were respectful, but firm. Awesome job! :)
I am so thankful the Lord gave you Dennis. I am so thankful the Lord gave Dennis you.
Did you offer to bring all the kids to their office to "wait" for the approval or were they nice and just helpful after a couple of nudges?:)
I still would like to know your pursuasive technique!
Wonderful news! Praying!

I have been checking daily for updates on Dennis, Every Mom out there has had to go that extra mile with the Doctors office at somepoint! You are doing such a great job! For me, I remind myself for them it is all business nothing personal, for me it is all personal no business! :)
Perhaps, when Dennis gets his eye, you can send that office a very nice thank you note with a before and after picture? Sometimes people need a little reminder, physical proof, that their job is so much more than words and numbers on paper.
Lots of love to you all :)
This is great news! Praying that Dennis has his new eye this week!
You go girl! I like how you asked the woman how she'd feel if it were her son.
Never under estimate the power of a mom! Keep us posted.
I can't wait to see the little guy with his new eye! You must be so excited.
You are right that no one can advocate like a parent. Dennis will be in our prayers this week as well as his forthcoming appts. A friend told me of your blog after she told me Dennis had ABS. Our daughter had ABS as well. Thankfully this is just physical and does not affect the mental aspect. Keep up the good work.
That is great news! Good job!
