She Earned an A

I am so very proud of my Anna. She got a big fat A on her recent president presentation! When she first brought home the assignment, I insisted that she go one step further and do an extra thing on her list of ways she could present her president which was George Washington. With huffing and puffing, she did what I asked and by the time she was ready to do the presentation, she was excited that she had gone the extra mile. I promised that her teacher would be too.

Anna has come so far in the last three and a half years! We held her back one year, and now she is at grade level if not a little above. A far cry from where she started out. It used to be a battle to get her to do her homework without asking me for help on every single problem or having her write legibly. She used to actually "pretend" like she didn't understand something so that I would explain it five or six times. How I worked through that with her is a story in itself, but the point being is that we did work through it together and neither of us gave up. Three and a half years later, I am just so pleased with where we are at.

It is possible----- Anna is holding the proof!

Take a good look at this picture. I think my son is pretty darn handsome if I do say so myself.

Now imagine him with two beautiful blue eyes, instead of one. Hint, hint.

Stay tuned!

Isn't it wonderful when they realize that their extra effort payed off. I love when my kids go that extra mile and it results in even better better rewards than they could have even imagined. Dennis is gorgeous, he'll be a heartbreaker with 2 blue eyes.

Congratulations, Anna! Earning an "A" is something to be proud of, but you should be equally as proud of the work and effort you put toward your project.

Good work!

Way to go Anna! There's a whole lot of people out here in bloggerland who are very proud of you, and the hard work you put into your project! I can't wait to see Dennis' new eye! He's changed so much since he's been home, it's unbelievable! His former caregivers at the orphanage would never recognize him.
