Today was a lovely day. It was nice watching the kids play outside. For those of you who remember what Dennis was like when he first came home, you can see why I appreciate this picture so much.

Next to William who loves to jump off of swings, is Dennis swinging on his tummy, just trying to be as cool as his big brother Will. To see Dennis doing these things just like all of my other kids, brings me such joy. I don't even want to think about how life would have been for him had we not adopted him.
When I took this picture, I was focusing on Dennis. But now I see that the cross behind him, stands out quite nice. Annalyn, Julia, and Anna made it out of scrap wood and then painted it with bright colors. They said it was for Easter.

Dennis is getting so big and independent! I laughed about your comment about the ladder -You are so right! I think such things are more terrifying for parents than for kids any day... we KNOW they are mostly safe, but as soon as those chubby little legs start up.. poing! out pops a new grey hair for mom. Is it just fear, or stress of keeping your mouth shut because you know they have to do and learn?! :)
Connie-thanks for reminding me that my grey hair is from the kids not because I'm getting older!!!!
I wish we had that play set in our yard!!!!
Dennis has certainly come along way since the time you brought him home. It is so fun to watch these kids thrive in a loving home. Our son Justin has come along way also.
It's so hard to let go and just let them grow up, isn't it. We learned the hard way that crazy things happen when you least expect it. Sissy is fearless, there is nothing that big brothers do that she thinks is too hard for her. So our surprise came when she fell of the couch and broke her arm. Jumps off rocks, rolls down hills, and then breaks her arm in the living room. There is just no reasoning it out. We just have to put them in God's hand and know that He is in control.
♥ Great pictures! Love the yard. your grass is so green and beautiful!
I had to smile when I looked at Dennis swinging on his belly like that. I remember doing the same thing. He sure has come a long way in less than a year!!
It's so amazing how much he is doing. What a blessing. He is getting to be such a big boy! I love seeing his little legs climbing up those stairs! He so wants to be a big boy!
It does cause us to pause at times, when we think of the lives our children would have had, had we not adopted them.
Love the cross and love that sweet little boy of yours! :)
Christine, Just catching up on your latest. It's been so long since I read how you're doing. What a difference in Dennis these last two surgeries have made in his appearance! It's striking. Glad to hear how he's bounced back.
I love your swing set! We really would love to get one but there are so many choices and we'd have to find someone to put it together because we are not great in the carpenter department! Great pics!
What a fun play set!! I understand your fear about Dennis...I am still so nervous with Alex about everything since he broke his leg.
I love these photos!! Dennis is absolutely thriving in your home!
What lovely pictures! Dennis is getting so brave!

So excited about the eye - I hope that everything works out ok!

Great post. Dennis is truly an amazing little guy! I had just been thinking as well about how far our little guy has come inthe past 19 months and had to post about how much he has blossomed.
Your right, it is scary to think of what life would have been like for Dennis. Thank God for his intervention. I pray that many more littlies could be rescued.
It looks like Julia will have plenty of yarn to keep her happy and busy for a long while.
I LOVE the cross! What an amazing idea to have it all colorful for Easter!!
