Today I went to the dentist. So nice that the hygienist remembered that I compare my teeth being cleaned to a body massage. She made sure I had "extra" treatment and for me it was heavenly. Yes, I know that sounds crazy, but it's the truth. And yes, I did pick up one of my older girls from school to come watch the boys in the waiting room for me for the 30 minutes it took to clean my teeth. And had Jonny listened to her, like I instructed him to do, she would have enjoyed her special little time with her two youngest siblings. It was obvious that not one, but two of my boys needed naps today.
Adam spent the day participating in the County Math Bowl--- I can't wait to find out how his team did! Jonny had his kindergarten evaluation--- which I was reminded again that he most likely is color-blind. Other than that-- he is pumped up about starting school. What a huge difference one year can make.
Dennis has officially said his first word--- and it is not Mama! Sniffle. Dennis now very clearly says thank you at the same time that he signs it! What a polite young fellow. He definitely has a mischievous side to him too. Crayons in the pencil sharpener, goldfish crackers in cups of water, drawings on his hand and tummy and cute little toes. Dennis is quick to pick up on things we think he is paying no mind to. He is one smart little cookie!
My daughters are growing up overnight. I have had to add maxi-pads to my Wal-Mart list....... awwwwwe, the joy of raising girls. Strangely, they seem to have more of an attitude the days following instead of the days before. The littlest things can set them off-- and the boys are not used to it. Last night one of my sons and daughters got into it over the silliest thing----- thankfully they realized that their attitude had not been so hot and apologized. Yes, raising tweens and teens take a lot of time-- but I am loving it!
Needless to say we are busy.... in a good way. I have lots more to journal........ hope I have time later.

♥ I'm not so very excited about the puberty thing... My mom did it with 5 girls and I don't know how she did it. Unlimited supplies of pads no doubt!!! :)
Thank you is an awesome first "word."
Christine- I had a dream about Dennis last night- he was 4 or 5
and had his artificial eye in-
He looked great!
I didn't know he was lurking in
my sub-conscious!
Both my sons are teens and
although challenging- I am
enjoying the teen years.
my Ethan,6, told me I should buy us some stayfree because it makes you wake up happy and makes you use nice words. some days I think I should really run right out and buy them for him.
I hope you don't mind, but I shared your blog with someone who is considering adopting a Russian girl from a disruption. I told her I thought you'd be happy to talk with her. Tracy

I think we could all get rich by investing in feminine protection. :)
So Dennis is using sign language! Very cool. I like that.
Raising girls, oh yes, lots of fun. Really, they are wonderful, just sloightly unpredictable, just like their mothers. ;)
Well, I never got the girl but we are so enjoying our boys. I know they will come with many challenges, also, but I will love going through it all..the good and the not so good. :) LOVE being a mom!!
I am glad you are enjoying it all. It's sooo much fun. They grow up way too fast so we need to cherish every moment. Thanks for this great reminder.
WTGo Dennis on his first words, woohoo!!
Nastya is getting to "that age".....oh, dear!
When I was a teenager I was always in a worse mood the days after rather than the days before! After I had my son it changed, now I'm a blubbering mess the week before! Haha!
Thank you - that is a good beginning!
