Today we readopted our son Dennis! Now we will get an official U.S. delayed registration of birth certificate for our little one! Not that his Ukrainian birth certificate wasn't good enough, but for us, it just makes things easier. Now, if Dennis ever needs a copy of his birth certificate, he can get one locally instead of requesting it from Ukraine.

** I have done all five of my children's readopts without a lawyer! It is very simple.... at least here in California. I would be happy to walk anyone through the process if they would like.

that´s great :) ...+ bautyful pictures!!! :)
twice as secure =)
Congrats again!
Since you so wonderfully respond to your comments from time to time I'd love to hear your secret recipies for putting weight on Dennis. Not only does he look different from his surgeries he's really plumping up! I have a skinny little guy who has a chewing aversion that could use a little meat on his bones.
Love your blog!
Congratulations! Wonderful news!

Congrats!! That's great news!
Yeah! Congrats. I have heard that many people readopt in the US just to have a US birth certificate. THat is something I want to do with Colby. Is it very difficult? What did you need to do?
Melissa
Congratulations!
Great news....congrats.
How handsome Dennis looks! I love adoption day! I remember our adoption days at the court house and how happy everyone was. The judge said that they all loved adoption days too! Lots of smiling faces and happy families!
Many, many congrats!!!!
How wonderful!
May God continue to bless you and your family.
how wonderful for you all
YEA! Congrats again!!!! ;>)
Its too bad you had to go through the time and expense. In Kansas all we had to do was go to the courthouse, file an application and six weeks later, waalaaah! She had a Kansas birth certificate. Same with Iowa. Hmmm...maybe you could talk to some of your representatives to see if they could change the law. (As if you have a ton of time on your hands, I know. ;>)
What a great day!
Christine, you look wonderful! I know you get discouraged about your needing to lose some weight but you don't look like you need to lose anything.
That's wonderful! You must have had an awesome day. I love how in the first picture it looks like Dennis is declaring something very important :-)
Congrats! Again! You all looks so very happy!
that's great mom
Congratulations! Nice pictures to commemorate the day.
What a great day!! Isn't it an awesome feeling even though they have been yours since the day you first lay eyes on them?
♥ Congratulations! :)
Congratulations! :)
Hi Christine, I read your offer of information on re-adoption on Melissa's blog (Colby). I was just starting research on completing that for Camryn & Courtney in California. I re-adopted Katy in 2005 but my agency handled it. Now it's something like $1200 per child which is out of the question for us right now. Any direction on doing it myself would be so appreciated! The US birth certificate if priceless for the kids later on as it may be impossible to get copies from their birth countries. If you have time to post a quick how to it would be so helpful!
lh, yes I would be happy to help you!
Congrats! Those moments in the courtroom are priceless.
Hearing those words... that the child is really yours... the most beautiful words a mother can ever hear (so a repeat day is twice as precious!)
Blessings!
I did our adoption idependently (no agency) and was able to get through the Russian system. When it came time to look into re-adoption I could not figure out the State of California process. The HS agency wants $700 and I guess not to accept the fact that US seems harder than Russia I have not done it yet. I rather have you as my guide. You are amazing Christine working on Alosha's adoption and Dennis' re-adoption at the same time. You have my admiration!
Yay congrats!
Also, I'd like to point out that I think you are very pretty! Especially in that skirt!
Now I hope Alexei's adoption will go as smoothly as Dennis' readoption!
I agree with the other comments on how great you look! I got distracted from what I was reading thinking "boy Christine looks great in those photos".
Congrats on the re-adoption:)
And on looking so great!
I'd love to know how to do this, if it is similar to FL's laws. Nikolai has been home 6 years and I still haven't re-adopted him! When I re-adopted Natasha and Reese (together) it cost something like $500 and we did use a lawyer!! Ugh!!
I so wish our state would allow this! I love the pics! Congratulations AGAIN!
Hi Christine - I sent an email to you at the address listed on your profile. hope you get it. Thanks again.
Congratulations!! Dennis just melts my heart so so adorable. I can't wait until the day I can email you and ask about readopting my 3. It seems as if that day is so far away. Love reading your blog. I have to learn to make it a point and write everyday like you do. It just seems as if the day goes by fast but then I see the difference you make in people understanding the dynamics of large families and adoption. You are always in our prayers. Love you guys!
Congrats!! That's great news!
I am curious.....
Because of my daughter, I am noticing that in a good many of Dennis' pictures he is tilting his head to the right. Is this indeed a normal posturing for him?
My daughter always held her head to the right too. As it turned out this was how she could see straight. The rt. eye muscle was pulling her eye up and outward-slightly. It was repaired when she was 3-1/2. It was thought she'd need therapy to get her to hold her head up straight BUT once her eyes were in alignment it all took care of itself.
I dont know if Dennis having one eye makes a difference in focus. I'm not sure how eyes work.
Just wondering if there is anything to his tilt.
I'll be praying for Dennis on Tue. I can not believe he is back for surgery so soon. It just doesn't feel as if his little body would have recouperated from the last one.
Congrats! Again :D
Oh, congratulations! =) Dennis is a lucky boy.
I would LOVE some help on this! We are going to readopt our 2 boys (NC)..right now we are doing the first of 2 post placement reports...I know you have a surgery for your little one coming up tmrw, so maybe in a few weeks when you guys get settled again we can talk. please :)

This is so great!!! I've thought about re-adopting Daisy once we come home. Now I'm going to research it more.
Christine,
I still need to do our CA readopts and would love to talk with you about how to do it w/o a lawyer. We were sort of waiting on finances, but if I can do it on my own, then I would love to get it done soon!
I know you're really busy right now, but when you have a chance, email me or comment on my blog and maybe we can chat.
Also, right now we have 2 foster babies, but in the future, we would possibly be available to do respite care for adoptive families and I am more than willing to talk with and encourage anyone who needs it (We had a REALLY rough first 18 months with 3 older children coming home from Liberia - but, by the grace of God, we are doing AWESOME now!).
Praying for Aleksey!
Love,
Jen
What is the real reason / benefit for readoption?
Good to hear it was that easy for you without an attorney.
I thought the Reed family was in Florida (?) Why did I think that?
