I emailed pictures of Dennis to the doctor and they agreed that he looked like he might be getting an infection so they went ahead and prescribed two antibiotics. They seem to be helping so I am praising God that I went ahead and listened to my intuition.
I have already had seven parent-teacher conferences this week and all of the kids' grades have went up! A few of them have straight A's and one has been recommended for GATE! Tomorrow Adam has his interview for the college scholarship that he applied for and was chosen as a finalist. Yesterday we went shopping and bought him a nice shirt and slacks to wear to the interview. Afterwards, I take him to register for high school! Can you believe it? Can you believe that I am old enough to have a high school student?
Sveta is going to start being re-evaluated through school. It has been three years since the school last did a full assessment and I am so excited to see how far she has come. She has made so much progress this year regardless of the fact that we moved and started a new school that I am hopeful that we will get some real encouraging news about what her future holds!
William continues to throw me for a loop regarding his fascination for "dangerous" things. Recently he has talked about how cool it would be to be a stuntman and jump out of an airplane without a parachute. This is the same boy who will write his teacher an apology note without being prompted by me when he horses around too much on the playground. This is the same boy that gets his whole week of homework done over the weekend so that he can responsibly turn it in that Monday--- five days early. This is my boy who is so affectionate and loving and knows that if he jumped out of airplane without a parachute it would break my heart. His answer to me---- I won't get hurt Mom. What's a Mom to do?
I haven't had time to respond individually to all of the private emails I have received recently, but I wanted to let you all know how encouraging you have been. Thank you. I hope I am even half as encouraging to you guys!

You are en encouragement and I'm so glad you've had an uplifting week! Your children are doing so well....and having had the joy of being in the same position, I know how gratified you feel having contributed in whatever way to find that girl a loving home.
I know how you feel about Adam starting high school- My youngest started in September-
My oldest got accepted to University in the fall- I was feeling anxiety about the thought
of him not living at home!
I am now finally at peace with it-
It is a good thing and I am trying to see it that way!
He can commute everyday- so I
made a deal with him where he lives on campus first year and
then commutes second year-
Wow they grow up fast!
Dennis looks great- I hope his
infection heels quickly.
Wow. Lots going on. My Adam starts highschool next year too but he's my third to go. Then there's a six year gap until Jasmine starts.
Big, big shake up here this week. Will e-mail you later.
Sounds like good things are going on! Nick tried to "parachute" off his very high bed with an umbrella yesterday (I caught him just in time)! I have no doubts that he would think no parachute and jumping out of an airplane would be fun!?! BOYS! :)
Christine I am so touched by your heart! You truly have a gift from God when it comes to adoption disruption and it is great that you are following God's call!
Welcome to the "I'm old enough to have a high schooler" club!!!!
Christine,
I need to keep Dima away from William. They are two of kind!
great uplifting postive post. Just what you needed this week. Glad you always see the smiles and trials are good for us all. Hugs
Oh GOOD! I'm so glad she found a home AND that she can stay close by. :)
We are having our home study updated next week anyway. :) It is something we have been needing to do.
Glad Dennis's doc could get the pics. Isn't the internet great! We do the same thing with the girls when we need to get a quick look at something. Take a picture and email it and in 5 minutes we have an answer if we need to come in or not. LOL
You have a great kind of busy Christine. :)
You are an inspiration to me! I had to laugh about William and his reassurance that he wouldn't get hurt. Too funny. Have a blessed weekend with your family:)
You are such an inspiration. Your posts are always so uplifting. Thank you. (:
Sounds like a great week! I know that "old enough to have a high schooler" feel. This year I've had one graduate from high school, one graduate from college and one begin grad school! THAT makes me feel old! I have to look at the other end of the spectrum to feel young. This year I also had two graduate from kindergarten, one begin kindergarten and one celebrate his first birthday. ;>
Great post, Christine. Adam is a boy you can be proud of, for sure. I'm glad the little girl has found a family.
Your cup runneth over. Blessings.
I'm so glad it has worked out. Great job!
You know, I think a lot of boys think jumping out of planes without a parachute is cool. Unless William is actually DOING dangerous stuff, it might be good to encourage him to talk about it. Let him know that talking about stuff is fine, but that you would really be sad if he actually did it.
You are doing such a great job with your kids. Anyone who thinks you don`t have time for them really should take a good look at your blog, I don`t see ANY signs that your kids are missing out on parental interaction!
I'm glad things are going so well in your home. I am very thankful that you are able to help with finding a home for this special girl. I pray it all works out for everyone invovled.
I hope the interview for Adam goes well.
I love hearing updates on all the kids!
I've been keeping your family in my prayers. I'm just amazed at how you can up with everything on your plate and still have time to write interesting, meaningful posts. You are an amazing woman! I'm in awe!
woops! left out an important word in my post above--
I'm amazed at how you can KEEP up with everything on your plate.
How wonderful to go to conferences and get good news!! So glad things are going well. Dennis looks great.
