Dennis got this little blanket bear from a neighbor for his first surgery. It is soft and cuddly, and brings Dennis comfort. He likes cozying up to it at night and often wants to carry it down to breakfast with him in the morning. Of course, I wanted to take it for Dennis when he went in for this last surgery. He held it during the whole drive up to the hospital and I was sure that I grabbed it when I got him out of the car.
It wasn't until the nurse carried him back into surgery that I realized that I didn't have it with me for when he woke up. Not wanting to panic, I was sure I had left it in his carseat. When I saw that it wasn't anywhere in the van, I felt sick. I started to retrace my steps.
"Lord, please help me find Dennis' bear. Please."
I walked back into the hospital, up to the security desk just about to ask if they had seen it, when I looked on a chair next to the officer and saw it!
"Thank you Lord!"

Security blankets & toys can be such a Godsend! I know as a babysitter/nanny that they also help with separation from a parent if and when that need ever arises. Sometimes it's a good idea to invest in an "extra" of the security object, just in case.
p.s. I still have my baby blankets in the closet somewhere...slept with them until I was about 12!
Sooooo glad it was found! Special cuddly toys are sometimes just as good as any medicine!
I guess that when you lose something like that in a hospital, the finder would KNOW that this is really important to some little person and is just as important as any medication and have to hand it in quickly. What a relief for you and Dennis!
God KNEW that bear meant comfort to Dennis, and to you too. So Mr. Bear was waiting for you and Dennis when you found him, what a blssing that is!!!!
awwwwwww
what a blessing that someone turned it in. I am so happy for you both.
:)
Somehow I'll bet that little bear wondered where Dennis went without him.
As I'm typing this my comfort bear (Jockey) is looking at me (I'm now 28 ;)).

So glad it was found!
Glad it was found too but I like what Martha had to say - maybe the little blankie-bear was at security so he could make sure his baby Dennis didn't leave without him! LOL! Glad he was found. Thanks for your real blog about your real family!

I have a question for your next digest!
I was wondering, if Annalyn and Rachael had any aversion to calling you "Mom" and "Dad" due to their disruptions?
I was simply curious as I read some of your earlier posts and you mentioned that you first met Rachael through as family friend (I'm guessing then she would have addressed you as Mrs Reed) and Annalyn was with you family a week after you found out about her.
Was it hard for them to recognise you as their parents, especially as they were with another family before they came to you?
Best of luck with Alexey's adoption! Godspeed to you xx
so happy to hear that Dennis is on the mend. I am sorry I have been delinquent on sending the money for the scarf. I will do it today. Enjoy your week.
Oh I SO know how you feel - my 4 year old has a pink bear/blanket just like that, named "Mimi", that she has to sleep with. I'm so glad you found it!
I am so glad the Lord allowed that bear blankie to be kept safe until you could retrieve. God cares about us so much; even in the things that might seem little to us. Blessings to you for a wonderful week! :]
I'm so glad you found it. Blessings.
My 2 year old daughter has the exact same "bear", but in pink. I have 3 that I rotate out with washings. I have those extras, just in case we would lose one. She doesn't go anywhere without "bear". She even tucks him into her totebag for preschool. Glad you found that little guy.
♥ I'm glad it was there!!!
God is so good, He cares so much for us, even little bears for our kids.
