Feeling Refreshed!

Yesterday wore me out. I don't know how other than getting up at 4am, but it did. I was not a very helpful Mom to my kids. I barely had enough energy to go over Sveta's homework and address two of my children's discipline issues--- which is a whole 'nother post I have been putting off writing about.

So, I was glad to see that I was the only one that Dennis wanted. It was a good excuse to snuggle on the couch with my little boy and fall asleep. Three of my girls made pancakes for dinner and cleaned up the kitchen afterward. Have I told you lately, how awesome my kids are?

Anyway, back to the snuggling part with Dennis. He would not fall asleep unless our faces were touching. His nose was pressed into my cheek so that he felt my warm breath on him. One daughter commented how it must be yucky having to smell Dennis' breath. Awww, how wrong she is! I told her that she will not understand how heavenly this is until she has her own child. She looked at me with doubt like I was a bit looney.

Dennis got up to eat, while I continued to sleep.

Little did I know they took this attractive picture of me.

Today is a much better day! I have my energy back and so does Dennis!

LOL! My kids have gotten a few pictures of me like that , but I haven't been brave enough to post them. :)

Don't you just love it when the kids just "click" and get things done in a helpful way? So sweet!

Of course you were wiped out! The mental energy we expend when our children have medical events is huge. So glad you feel refreshed today! Glad also that dennis is doig so well.

Not only did you have to have everything ready for the other children for yesterday for school, get up during the night to drive to the hospital but you had the stress of worrying about Dennis and his surgery. No wonder you were beat!

So nice of the kids to make BAD (breakfast at dinner).

Hope you are napping today while Dennis and Jonny nap.

♥ How nice that your girls did dinner and cleaned up! Love the dinosaur jammies and blanket! I'm glad you guys are more refreshed today! I can't even imagine how stressful yesterday was and I'm sure that's another reason why you're so tired! :)

Its so nice when the day is done, especially an exhausting one and you can finally just crash like you did. What a great release of tension and such a relief that Dennis is home safe and sound. It's so great that your older kids chip in and help when the need is there. A full circle!

That is the sweetest thing that he needed to be face to face with you to sleep. Your kids will understand one day:) Glad you are feeling better today! Tell your kids they are fabulous for helping out and making dinner AND cleaning up!

I am just caughting up on what is going on. I just can not believe that this is Dennis. You can not appreciate just how much he has grown unless you see the picture of him on your lap. He is getting so big (I mean in a good way). Look how tall he is getting.

I would love to see a side my side post of how much he has grown.

Great news and Praise the Lord that Dennis is doing well and that you are more rested!

I was blog reading the other day and Liera happened to come up behind me while I was on your blog. She did not know what to think about Dennis but understood that he is from Ukraine like her. It was a blessing to share with her another adoption story and how there are wonderful parents out there who love their kids no matter what their outward appearance is. God bless! Jen

Stress makes us Mom's tired. Nothing is more stressful than taking your child in for a medical procedure. I'm so glad you are feeling better today. The pictures are all adorable.

Blessings,
Julie

It is exhausting caring for medically fragile children as well as a large family. You are doing a great job. I hope you can catch up on some sleep soon.

I could write a dozen posts on discipline issues while I was on the Haiti trip!!!!!!! Arg. I so want Adam to go on the Haiti trip (to a different area) this summer for five weeks but he has only gotten $46 in donations and needs $2,690!!! Pray. I think it could be heart changing for him.

I had to laugh about your comment on not minding Dennis' breath! I was just telling my husband about that particular motherhood phenomenon, and he thought I was a bit crazy too. :)

So glad he is doing well!

At least your mouth was closed ;o)

Glad you both are feeling better. How is Dennis's pain, not as severe as the first surgery I hope. Praying for healing and comfort.

How blessed to have such helpful children!

I am glad Dennis seems to be recovering. And you do not look bad at all on that picture, after what you had to go through...the pain of your child is like a knife through your heart. I would have looked terrible. It may take a few days to be on full speed again. Rest when you can. Very nice of the kids to pitch in!

Stress and worry is EXHAUSTING!! Have no guilt about napping and take another when you can :)

Yesterday and the day before, Honor has been sleepy (we're on Spring Break). She is long past naps, but she was tired. So was I. So we left Brian to his video games and went for a cuddle up, read and nap time. When we slept, we were nose to nose :) Brian didn't want to nap, but he was happy with his responsibility of watching over us, listening for the phone, and waking us after an hour.

Aww, that is so sweet the way Dennis fell asleep with you. Caleb does that too every once in a while.:)
