27 Getting Together!

Today we got together with two other adoptive families. It was so much fun! We made sure to break for this photo and believe it or not--- this was our first picture and everyone was looking!

One of the families adopted a little girl that I helped to place through a disruption. She is doing amazingly well as are all of the other thirteen adopted children that were there! Can you imagine that??? Thirteen adopted children among our three families. I personally think that is awesome! Add to that the eight biological children that were there, plus us six parents, and we had a total of twenty-seven people running around.

Maybe I had so much fun because I just love being around people, but I think the real reason that I had so much fun was that I relate with these families and they totally understand my family. No need to feel uncomfortable, no need to make excuses for any kids, no need to pretend to be someone I am not......... it was absolutely wonderful.

Dear Christine,
I'm glad you 'happened' upon my blog today. Of course you probably believe, as I do, that nothing ever happens by accident. So, if you were encouraged by anything I wrote, then know it was from the Lord, not me.

Your blog brought tears to my eyes. I have great respect for families who adopt special needs children.

When I have time, I'll come back again and read more of your previous posts.

Blessings to you and your wonderful family.

Sue
P.S. Where do you find time to blog?

That sounds like so much fun...and I don't believe you ever have to pretend to be someone you're not, as you are a pretty special lady. But I know what you mean, it is nice to be with people who really understand where you're coming from. I just want you to know I LOVE reading about your life, it is encouraging and helpful, and my kids love seeing pictures of yours....(they just love Dennis!!)...and my Jon likes to see what your Jonny is doing....

What a fun day! Our adoption friends are such a blessing to us. We met five of our adoption friends in Nashville yesterday and let the kids play at the local bounce gym. It is nice to be around other adoptive parents and share concerns/advice.

Great photo! Simply amazing that everyone was looking too!!
