*************************

Adam is a homebody. He is content just hanging out with his family. I think that's cool.

Sveta is wearing a present from Uncle Brad and Aunt Connie in Egypt. Isn't she pretty?

Oh my, is that my Jonny?

Yes, I encourage cereal night at least once a week. I'm not sure who likes it more--- me or the kids.
Adam and Julia wanted to prove that there are at least two other ways to eat yogurt besides with a spoon.
Here is my little cuddlebug being carried upstairs so that I could get him ready for bed. Nightly routine is to brush teeth, wash and put ointment in his eye, change his diaper, put on his jammies, and give him at least twenty kisses. I'm telling you, everything about this little boy brings me joy--- including watching how much all of his siblings love being around him too.
Today, was a follow-up to his cleft palate surgery. The surgeon said that everything looks great. He reminded me that his surgery in March is going to be a very major one which will include working on both sides of his face, his lip and mouth, and trying to close up his eye. Dennis' last surgery was pretty major in my opinion, so you can only imagine how nervous I am about this upcoming one. Please keep Dennis in your prayers--- March is not very far away.

I'm soooo glad you got a good deal on your playset and I'm sure all the children will have a blast playing on it! Adam and Julia looked like twins in their yogurt eating contest! Will be praying for Dennis' surgery and for you too! Also, congrats on John's bonus and your home selling!
That picture of Jonny is too funny! Can't wait to see pictures of the play set construction!
mmm yes yogurt. My kids love to drink it. Jack even tried eating it with a fork once. That didn't work to well.lol.
How does Dennis go with brushing his teeth? does he do it himself or do you do it for him. I know I still have to do Jack's and still check Samuel is doing it properly.
Glad to hear the good report!
Dennis and all of you remain in my prayers, and here's a Bible promise for you. "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27
Very nice play set! I love cereal at night. I never eat it in the morning!
I'll be praying for Dennis's surgery.
xoxo
This precious baby boy came all the way from an orphanage in Ukraine, to a loving family in California...I have not a doubt in my mind that he will come through with flying colors!
Do you have any bargaining tips? I tried to get someone to go lower on some clothes I wanted to donate to the local NICU today, but he just went "uh, I don't know if [the store] can do that", so I put them back and finished checking out. It's quite awkward asking a chain store to mark something down, I must say! It was definitely a first for me!
Oh how cute are the photos!!!
You know that prayers are always there for you and for
Mr Dennis!
Dont Adam and Julia look alike! Gorgeous kids!

Any surgery is major to the mom! We still have to watch them get poked and prodded and wheeled away whether it's for an hour or six hours.
I just love your family. Please keep us posted on Dennis.
Delurking to ask if you have a Sam's Club in your area? They have your playset for $1300 and free shipping!
BTW I just love following your family and will continue praying for Dennis, as his next surgery approaches.
Love the playset. Do they have a Sam's where you live? They had this playset for less than shown on the website you linked (still $1299 but included shipping...I thought locally ours got down to $1000). Not to discourage you, but I thought I'd let you know.

Awesome play set! Your kids will love it!! We are praying for your family and Dennis's upcoming surgery. I love the idea of cereal for supper once a week! It's so difficult coming up with ideas night after night.
Especially on nights when we are running with activities and need something fast!!
I also wanted you to know that Dennis and your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers as you perpare for his next surgery. Dennis is such a joy and I always love hearing how special he is to all his brothers and sisters!!
Also, I have a friend Sarah who has recently adopted a 6 year old boy from Russia (Vlad). He was abused in the orphanage and is having trouble now home. I thought you might be able to offer her some advice or help concerning families who've had similar experiences or I thought you might know of a therapist she could consult. I truly didn't know who else to ask but you. I met Sarah in Vlad on trip 2 for us (trip 1 for her). We stayed at the Inn several days together and also in Moscow. She is a such a wonderful person and I am saddened to see her heart ache. She is also a single mom, so I know she could use any advice that you can give. I can also give you her e-mail address if you e-mail me at russianfairytale (gmail). Thank you so much!! Her blog will better explain what she has been going through. Unfortunately, the agency she has been working with has not provided her with any help or resources. They have blamed her for "inconsistent parenting." Her blog is

Merry Russian Christmas!
That's a great playset. I know it will get a lot of use!
The playset is AWESOME!! And I LOVE LOVE cereal night!! We do it often!!
I am so excited about the playset! I can't wait to see pictures of the kids playing on it!
I will continue to pray for little Dennis. Pray that his surgery goes well. I am sure he will handle it like a champ!
Cereal night!!!! Now, that is an idea!
That is an incredible play set! Our house had a much smaller one when we bought it and we were so excited, thinking what a deal since they basically just left it because they couldn't pack it. And now, five years later, its just sitting in the back yard....occassionally a bird lands on it. {Sigh} One day, it'll be the hot spot of our yard.
Jonny looked SO good in that hair net. Tell him red is definitely his color.
I will continue to pray for Dennis's surgery.
The play set looks awesome! My kids wish we could afford one. :)
Hi Christine, I am so excited about your playround. GOOD for you for being determined to get a good deal. I am sure your kids are so EXCITED.....
Hey we always follow Dennis surgeries. Would you mind if we wanted to send a little care package before his next surgery??? Nothing to extreme just something to play with and litte him know that many are praying for him and his healthy recovery. My email address is hermyzoo@gmail.com
Please let me know either way. I won't be offened in way no matter your decision. THanks so much!!!
The yogurt picture so made me laugh! I will be praying that the next surgery goes well! PTL on your home selling!!! What an amazing God we serve!
Sam's club has that exact swingset for 1299--you should try and get them to lower it another 100.00.
That playset is going to be great!! I can't wait for the pictures of building and playing!!
Sasha loves to eat her yogurt on a Bagel...she spreads and dips! Some of my kids like to poke a spoon or popcicle stick in the lid and freeze for a treat the next morning:)
Blessings~
P.S I am glad that Dennis is healing well!
Praying right now about the upcoming surgery. Sweet little guy!
I don't know if you saw this on my blog, but we built the same set this fall! WE LOVE IT!!!! It's big enough for an adult to play in with the kids (well, some parts anyway) and it really is sturdy! I never posted pictures of our completed project on my blog, so maybe I'll do that today! LOL We changed ours slightly, as it needs a HUGE space (If I remember correctly 35 feet by 27 feet.) We took the swing/tunnel part and ran it off one side so it's "L" shaped instead. This fit perfectly in a space about 25 X 20. Anyway, you'll love the thing. Dean and one 16 year old boy built ours in a weekend! The most difficult part is the first 10 steps. LOL
Also meant to say your playset is great. Looks like a good deal, too. I'll bet everyone's excited about it!
Dennis is such a lucky little boy - but so are you...there is nothing like having someone to give twenty kisses to!
I will be VERY impressed if they can get that thing together in 24 hours :-) You let us know.
I can not believe how big Dennis is getting when I check out how little he looked when you 1st brought him home. I will keep him in my prayers.
That is awesome about the play set, proof that persistence pays off!
I think cereal night sounds like a great idea. We are really trying not to eat out, but sometimes I am really tired of cooking! Do you serve anything else besides cereal on "cereal night"?
Did you know that to reduce hyperactivity in a child with sensory needs (and maybe those without) you can put a 1/2 straw through a pudding cup for them to try and suck it through? I've tried it myself...and although it definitely increases focus, I had to wonder about the potential for brain damage, LOL!
Praying for Dennis
...and Mommy
...and for the doctors to have wisdom
...and for the Lord to heal
Will pray for Dennis. Remind us when it's getting closer.
Hey, Julia has bangs now!
I remember when I first moved to Hungaryy how surprised I was that we got our yogurt with a straw at school. My kids actually prefer them with the nice thick straws that are oh so perfect for smoothies, too.
I have followed along on your blog for awhile now. I love it! You have a wonderful family, I am so thankful for your honesty in sharing about yourselves! I am a mom to 5 bio children, 1 adopted child, and one foster son soon to be adopted by us. We are also in the process of changing our license to foster/adopt a special needs child. You are an inspiration! Thank you!
