Happy Birthday William!

It was fun celebrating William's birthday! On the way to the restaurant William told me out of the blue, "Mom, I am going to remember what you told me about behaving yesterday and how it is the right thing to do. I am getting bigger and so you don't have to remind me anymore." I thought that was pretty cool of him to say.

Marie Calendar's takes reservations so we didn't have to wait for our table.

Grandma and Grandpa, and some friends of ours joined us. We were a party of 20!

Dennis sat in a booster seat. He sure loved his watermelon!

William couldn't wait for his piece of chocolate cream pie. He had no trouble blowing out his candle!

All of his siblings gathered around William as he opened his presents. He got $60 in cash, so we stopped by Toys R Us on the way home. He also got a model truck, an art set, new shoes, and all the fixings for smores. Hmmm, I wonder what his last present is going to be?

Rachel wrote William a really sweet card, and here she is helping him read it because it is in cursive.

William started by looking at the Pokemon cards, and then we walked through the whole store only to end up back at the Pokemon cards. The cashier rang up the cards more than what William and I expected and the cashier gave a discount for William in exchange for the promise that William would be a good boy for me for the next 30 days. William agreed..... I thought that was pretty nice.

When we got home, we showed William his last present--- a fire pit!

He was very excited but after a while he lost interest because he had Pokemon cards to look at. It is nice to see him losing interest in fire now that we have made it so accessible to him.

We all roasted marshmallows.


And Andrew, that little turkey kept making smores just for the fun of it, thinking that someone else would surely eat them.

A quick story---- Tonight as I was putting the kids down to bed, I was in Andrew and William's bedroom going over their outfits for tomorrow. I told them that it was time to crawl into their beds and as I opened my arms for them to come and give me a hug and kiss, I turned my head and said that they had to kiss me on the cheek because I have a cold. William then asked if he could pray for me to get well. I said the prayer and before I walked out of the room, William reminded me that he was going to pray. This was his cute prayer. "Dear God. Please help my Mom's cold get better so that we can kiss her goodnight." Sweet, huh?
