Well, I did find an office that accommodated all of my needs, and we had them order just the frame so we could try it before the lenses were actually put into them. Yesterday, we had a fitting, and the safety glasses just wouldn't stay on his head with the first strap they ordered. So, we decided to order a different strap that also goes over the top of his head so the band that goes around his head won't slip off.
Next week, he will be sporting his protective eye wear! And the best thing--- the exam and glasses only cost us $10.00.

UPDATE*** Just got a call from the doctor's office. The manufacturer doesn't make the special strap for that particular size of goggles. I get to go shopping today to buy my own elastic strap that I get to sew onto the original strap. Yeah for me! Did I mention that I don't sew?

What a great deal!!!
Awesome spectacles Dennis! You da man
Great deal!! He looks adorable!! Hopefully you can find something and McGiver (spelling) it!!
I didn't know they made such cool glasses for little kids! Great job in getting this done. It is hard to find a place that will think outside the box. I finally gave up on finding someone to provide us with our prescription formula. Luckily, the insurance company is going to let me buy it and will reimburse me (hopefully!)
Very cool!
Go Dennis! I'm diggin your new look. What a good lookin boy. Love those smiles. Oh if I could just kiss his face. =) No better time than the present to learn something new. (sewing) lol Good luck, I don't sew either, so let me know how it goes. Love your face.
Dear Dennis
I look forward to following the fashion trends you are setting.
I too had to start wearing glasses around your age, and they are not too funky.
I certainly think you and I should create a glasses-fashion of our own.
What do you think?

Ready for racquetball. Look just like the prescription goggles I had. You go Dennis!
Do you have a friend that could do the sewing for you? I'd help but I'm 3,000 miles away.
Those safety glasses will give you peace-of-mind.
You sure have fantastic insurance as mine doesn't cover glasses.
I have reading your blog for a long time and have made several comments. I think that your family is amazing and you are doing a wonderful job.
I have a favor to ask. Not sure if this is the right forum but either you will remove my post or leave it for others to read:-)
One of my very best friend's daughter has been fighting stage IV stomach cancer for two years now and she just got some devesting news. I wanted to know if you would please pray for her and her family. I know from reading your blog that you are such a devoted Christian and this family needs all the prayers that can get during this time. Thank you so much. I have included her blog in case you would like to read it. http://beccascancer.blogspot.com/

That is wonderful. He looks so cute in his new glasses.
How cute!
My new blog was a gift. I didn't pay for it. :)
Oh come on those are the cutest things I ever saw! He looks adorable. Glad everything was only $10. Were making progress! So your not a sewer, this is how we learn.. lol

Could Dennis get any cuter???? I do hope you can find a strap and get it sewed on. I don't sew, either, so I am feeling for you:)
I love how sweet kids look in glasses. My son has been wearing them since he was 11 months. It may take some adjusting at first, but my son wants to wear his in the bathtub. I glad it all worked out in a round about way.
what does Dennis think of them?
So glad you got someone to help you! We tried to buy a safety strap to keep Z's on his face and one national chain would NOT sell me one, even though they were on display, because I hadn't purchased the glasses through them...I like your idea of sewing your own! He looks FABULOUS BTW!
Hi. I just found you from Dysfunctional Mom... and your blog is great... and your family... WOW... they are beautiful!! I love your header picture! AMAZING.
You are definitely and inspiration. I have some hard days with just three children, and you have 7. You are my new hero! :)
I hope things work out well with Dennis' new glasses and that you can find or make a new strap for them. Have you looked online... it seems that you can find almost anything online these days. Best of luck with that.
I can't wait to read some more of your blog and get to know you and your family.
have a great night.
hugs ~ jenn
I saw the video for sveta and anna online and my gosh they are growing so beautifully (and obviously, like your other children as well).
You must get this all the time.
I dream of being there too, having a house full of children and always having space for more.
Some time I'll figure out my visa status and I can start planning on it =)
Congratulations on the beautiful family and the beautiful heart.
Gabi
:) Thanks for answering my question! He looks adorable with the added bonus of protecting his "good" eye!
10 THAT IS GREAT - I WILL PRAY FOR A GOOD HAND AT SEWING - YOU WILL DO JUST FINe!
Hopefully you will be able to make something to help his glasses stay on. Does he need them to protect his eye socket, or will a new eye be going in that needs protection?

I found your blog via another blog and wow! I'm so glad I'm here. What a beautiful family you have!
What a sweetie! I'm glad he got his glasses--and for such a great deal!!
Have fun, you can do it! :)
Hi Christine, I'm wondering if this product would help Dennis to keep his glasses on: www.inconSPECuous.com.au
If not, maybe it will at least spark an idea. Also, you might rig up something out of Velcro.

Wow has he grown and I love his head full of thick hair :-) I started a new blog just for family & friends -- dmag4.blogspot.com. Thanks for all your loving support during our journey. There is not a day that goes by that I do not think and pray for little Alesky - I do so hope a family chooses him soon.
Looking good, Dennis!
Good luck with the strap...I don't sew either so I feel your pain!
And there's that darling Rachel, helping you out again.
