to fake nails!
Almost everyday after school they put on fake nails (Rachel brought an endless supply or so it seems when she came to us). When the sticky tape ran out, I refused to let them buy and use crazy nail glue because it is too permanent. Since I don't really like fake nails I thought I was playing real smart by not allowing them crazy glue but not coming right out and refusing to let them play with fake nails. But they showed me. They just use tons of Elmer's white glue. And I'm not kidding. :)

Where theres a will theres a way. I would have never guessed that Elmers would work for that. I used to be hooked on fake nails when I was their age too :)

Fake nails stopped me biting my nails for a good long time when I was their age. :-) A friend just opened a spa here and asked me to stop by - Honor overheard and wants me to take her too! Girls will be girls.
We have fake nails with little decorations around here too. I have never been a nail polish person either, but as I was sitting at the Dr. yesterday, I forgot the girls had given me a "pedicure". So I had green nail polish with white swirls for the Dr. to see. :/

My girls love them too! We usually get the ones with the sticky backing as they are easy to get off.
My sister and I had the same fettish. We would put them on and then use a LOT of hands in front of gestures while talking to one another in what we perceived to be 'very grown up' ways. Fond memories. I'm glad to see the girls have discovered the world of fake nails!
