The girls worked over at Grandma's house one day not to long ago. Afterwards, she always gives the kids something whether it be money or some little gift. This time she gave them a nice set of sponge curlers in a little plastic bag. That very night, three of my girls put their hair in curlers. Here is Anna and Sveta.

My mom used to put pink spongy curlers in my hair and my sisters hair every Friday night for church on Saturday.
The curls last for days, so long as you don't wash your hair.
How fun! We haven't had those in ages.....
I havent spent time checking out someone else's blog in ages - I LOVE the picture you have on top of all your kids. When the page loaded, I just got a great big smile on my face. Thanks for sharing your family!
hey are cool and really you do get a cute little curl!!! If you can in all that spare time you have (NOT) maybe a pic!!!
Awwww...my mom used to put the pink curlers in my hair! I was a huge Shirley Temple fan and always wanted bouncy curls. Of course those pink things make frizzy curls but I didn't care.
Your family is beautiful!
Thanks for visiting my blog! xoxo
What fun! :-)
I remember those curlers too... Though not so fun to sleep with them on all night. *rofl*

My M did my hair once in those curlers and my hair came out as straight as it went in. My hair is extremely fine and thick and STRAIGHT! My best friend in HS had a riot of ringlets all over her head and after watching her battle her curls I decided straight hair's not so bad :)
Cute pics regardless :)
I was just going to say that my sisters and I grew up on pink spongey curlers. But, I see my sister (lori) already visited your blog.
I also have to tell you, last summer, I posted about trying to get Katya's hair to hold a curl for my sister's wedding (a real challenge). The thing that finally did the trick was the spongey curlers. That post is probably my most popular google hit. Apparently, a lot of people are out there googling "pink sponge curlers". Strange, but true.
I used to love it when my mom would curl my hair.
I still use them myself. I've goten to be quite a master with them. A round handled, wooden spoon is a great way to take the "frizz" out. you just seperate the pieces by wrapping it onto the spoon handle and then pull it out. It makes the cutest ringlets. Oh, and you have to spritz with water before curling at night too. You probably know all this though. If you didn't use them when you were younger then why would your mom even have them... right? I bet their hair looked so cute the next day.
Oh what fun! My Grandmas use to put soft curlers in my hair when i was little too!
Adorable! How did the hair come out? Was it beautiful??
LOL!!! I don't think I would want to curl my hair.
