This is the beginning of a series of videos that I will be posting from our trips to Russia when we adopted Anna and Sveta back in 2005. I promise to keep them under five minutes..... this one is only a minute and a half.
John took this video of us when we ate our first meal together as a family..... with no one else around. We were able to be ourselves, without having to worry if we were parenting two of Russia's children right. Did anybody else get the feeling, that you couldn't be yourself until you were back on American soil?
It is sweet to watch how little they were back then. My, how they have grown since this video was taken. All of our attempts to speak each others language is quite amusing, but I think we did pretty good.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Wow. You have my admiration and respect to adopt and raise these children. What a wonderful family you have! How blessed!
Very sweet family moment! And their English has come so far so very fast! Thank you for sharing. :-)
Awwwwwwwww sweet....geez, makes me cry.
Awww so very sweet!! :) I love hearing the little Russian voices! I miss that in our house.
Thanks for all your nice comments on our blog.
Yes, I always felt (while in Kaz) that, according to their standards, my daughter was:
-not wearing enough layers of clothing,
-drinking too much water
-eating too slowly-etc, etc.
I couldn't hear the video (I'm at work), I have to watch it at home later.
That's beautiful! Any tips on learning russian in a week? I noticed your guide, we have one too, but I've been so busy getting ready to go, I haven't had a chance to look at it. You sure make it look a lot easier than I'm sure it is! You have an amazing family.
Your husband's Russian sounds impressive!
Thanks Shannon! I'll have to tell him you said that.
I've only read a couple of your posts but I love this video the girls seem like they are already totally comfortable with you and I love that you both speak Russian!
