Julia's Mission

All week John has been working on Julia's mission project with her. They spent eight hours together on it. It is the San Miguel Arcangel Mission.

If you click on the pictures you will get a better look at the model. They put a lot of detail into it with real pulleys to ring the bells and a 2 hot glue water fountains.

I think they did an amazing job!

Me, too..... I hope you guys can keep up the pace! The teachers are going to have some pretty high expectations for the Reed kids (and parents)!
Reminds me of the year my son Aidan was in second grade and given the assignment to do a Native American dwelling. The teacher turned somersaults emphaizing that the CHILD was to do this HIMSELF. So, I let Aidan do his own, and he build a pueblo out of legos. I offered to help (against regs) but he insisted NO PARENT HELP! Then, wouldn't you know it? I see, in the hallway, a big table displaying all the projects..... a lego pueblo in with projects that all looked like they had been done by the diorama artist at the historical museum. Tiny clay pots, real leather tipis, etc. I wanted to post a note next to Aidan's "I tried to help!" We looked like the unfit parents of the year!

The model looks great! That's quite a project for a little girl. Good thing she had some help.
And on another subject, thanks for the advice you left me on my blog, although I don't think what you've suggested sounds very easy to do at 39.5 weeks pregnant. I could hardly lean over and pick up my cell phone that fell onto the floor board of the passenger side.
This is my first time visiting your blog, so I'll have to do some catching up to get more details, but from your profile I'm super impressed, 10 KIDS!!! Are you crazy? My sister (Rachael from alwayswanted4) has 4 and I'm from a family of 6 kids, but 10, I can't imagine. You must have the patience of a saint! And a goldmine in your backyard. My baby isn't even here and I already feel the financial strain of a child.

Great job! Rachael is blessed to have a daddy who will help her.

WOW! That is some mission! When I did missions in 4th grade, it was a really tacky ivory soap job. :)

Congratulations on a job VERY well done!

What a beautiful job they did and even better that they spent that time together working on the project. Good Daddy/daughter time!
